Show me proof of the distortion and lies (And don't tell me the he said she said crap. You give me good, solid, credible FIRST HAND sources, and I'll listen). And if you want to put it like that, EVERY war is based on distortions and lies, so yes, it is patriotic. Come up with a valid question please, then repost.

Maybe.

The real question is which war?

I recently read about a guy who was up the point of his conviction found guilty of selling more dope than anyone in history. He was given life (or 25 years? - wnho understands what 25 to life means - really?). He got out in less time than some deadbeat dads for failure to earn a pay raise!

Narcho-terror is clearly by far the greatest threat to the USA.

Fight that. Screw GWB.

And in fighting that you will fight "his fight". Because, though he fights for rhetoric, his fight is with Al Qaida, primarily a dope organization that distributes heroin.

Here is a plan: develop your own version of a type of NASA robot that was to hunt for water on Mars. What I'm talking about is the "floating bubble robot" that has on it's inside a reflective surface etched so as to reflect a certain wavelength strongly. The robot floats, sniffs for a compound, and when it finds this it bursts, revieling said reflective surface. Then a scanning satilite simply shines a wavelenght not normaly reflected in nature down and finds where that triggering compound is as the robot will fall after it bursts.

So, if you make billions of these by photographic means; then you have a means of passively finding anything the trigger is set to detect. Say you set it for cocain. Voila! you know who is using cocain.

And it was a real project at NASA. They really could make said robots. Really. We taxpayers paid to buy that know how for US. Let's use it!

If Al Qaida were not a drug concern they would soon go bust. Period. But dope is perhaps a 5 trillion dollar per year business in the USA alone. Let us wipe them out, where it hurts. Restore the Bible. Restore the Quran.

If you are a Soldier, it is patriotic to do your duty, which in this case is to help protect your brothers in arms.

It is also patriotic to support the Soldiers. They do not make foreign policy, they are simply a foreign policy tool. DO NOT ASK YOUR CONGRESSMAN TO CUT FUNDING TO THE TROOPS. THAT WILL NOT STOP THE WAR. MONEY IS AVAILABLE THROUGH "LIFT AND SHIFT."

Having said the above, it is also patriotic to protest against irrational, unreasonable policies. It is the constitutents RIGHT AND OBLIGATION to present grievances to your government and seek redress; however, when you do it, remember that the Soldier is simply another American truly to do his or her duty. That Soldier may or may not agree with the government or you. Either way, he or she is simply doing the duty for which he/she agreed.

By the way, to xjmox14x: There were distorsion and lies. It's called "intel to order" or for those in the business, "backstopping." If you want proof, check out Colin Powell's laments, or statements of Richard Perle/Paul Wolfowitz that WMD was used because it would carry sufficient weight. I shouldn't need to give you links. Got Google, or do you read journals?

1) No war has ever been free of distortions and lies.
2) Those who 'participate' have vollunteered for this service regardless of what their feelings for future conflicts may be.

No one prays for peace more than a soldier. But as a soldier i can say it is stupid not to support this war. And childish to question the presidents integrity based on bad Intel. Remember this was the Intel. the Clinton admin. gathered of course it was wrong. and of course you should support you president (even if he is a fool).

It is patriotic to support and defend the constitution. That includes supporting our soldiers and our government, even during a time of war...

So let me ask you this.... Why do you challenge the patriotism of our soldiers, when you clearly don't understand what it takes to be a patriot????

In other words, what have you done to support and defend our Constitution???

"ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."... JFK

But considering the War on terror is not based on distortions and lies, your question is childish at best.

You mean one based on faulty intelligence?

Let me ask you this. However we got there, we're there now. Do you believe pulling out prematurely and leaving Iraq to its fate is a good thing?

You don't forsee a lot of misery and bloodshed as the various factions duke it out?

You don't forsee a Taliban like regime eventually ruling Iraq, perhaps helped by Iran, allying with terrorist groups, even sponsoring them with oil revnenues to strike at the west and the Great Satan?

Wouldn't pulling out prematurely just invite more terrorist attacks on our allies and ourselves down the road?

Are you looking for an excuse not to serve?

It is Patriotic to Serve when it is not mandatory

The fact that our Military is being misued has nothing to do with that.

Patriots want the constitution protected...Bush wants it scrapped. Tell me who are the real patriots? Bush and his warmongering oil buddies? or those who are questioning his policies??
