Just start talking
You can say whatever you want in anyway you want.
It's YOUR time with GOD
He knows your heart just keep talking
And you don't have to be on your knees and hands folded and all that stuff you can be fixing the car or shopping or watching tv you do it when and how you want!

I have been known to cuss a time or 2 when i talk to him some may think it disrespectful but HE knows my heart and that it was something that just happened and forgives me for it.
You can talk to God anyway you choose and he knows!

For me, praying is when I really just talk to God and He listens. So I start to tell Him about my day and the things I'm thankful for and how I see Him working in my life and in other people's lives. Then I ask him to bless or grant certain things that I want, but only if it is truly His will. Then I pray for other people or things that are going on.

If someone were to listen to my prayers they would think that I was having a one-way conversation, because I really dont use any fancy language or anything. I simply talk to God.

there is not right or wrong way to pray.Just start talking (in private of course) talk to God (or who ever your higher power is) like they are your closest friend. They are always listening. I am Pagan. I believe there is a god and a goddess(aka:Mother Earth and Father of the Sky). I talk to both. Not to sound preachy but they are always around us. their voice is the song of the birds, the wind in the trees, and their body is everything you can feel and touch. You don't have to go to a church or temple or any other religious building to pray. Those are for "strength in numbers" prayers. But you can pray any where. In your car, in your room, in your backyard..anywhere you feel comfortable. It doesn't have to rhyme or have a rhythm like most cookie cutter prayers do, as long there is sincerity and respect that is all you need. If you need to say a prayer like before a test and are in a public setting, just close your eyes and picture whatever brings you comfort and peace(a ball of light, a candle's flicker, a passed on relative, anything) and say your prayer in your head. It will still be heard.

Jesus said, "After this manner therefore pray ye Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." (Matthew 6:9-13)

You don't have to say those exact words, but this a model to show the manner in which to pray! Again, Jesus said, "After this manner therefore pray ye."

Some things of note:

1. It recognized God as our father and it exalts his name!

2. This prayer says "Thy kingdom come". We cannot pray this, because His kingdom has come. The church is the kingdom. Jesus is now a king, we are his subjects, and He is on his throne in heaven ruleing as head of the church.

3. This prayer states "Thy will be done". We must never exalt our desires above God's word. God is God and we are not.

4. There is a request for daily bread. We can ask God for the things we need.

5. We can ask God to forgive us, and we should have the attitude of forgiveness toward others. If we have something against someone else, this can hinder our prayer. If we will not forgive others, there is a danger God will not forgive us.

6. We can pray that God will help us to avoid and resist temptation.

7. Again this prayer ends with a recognition of God's power and glory.

8. "Amen" means let it be so!

Read Matthew 6. This chapter gives several instructions about prayer.

When you pray, pray with the proper attitude and pray often!

Clear your mind. Pray to God, or any other spirtaul being, that is your religion. Make shure that it is not shelfess, when you pray. If it is the God or the being will put a hold on it. Make shure that it is true, good, and clean. Pray for protection, and for your meal, and before you sleep at night. All so make shure to read your bibile!!! Good luck

When you pray you're talking to God. When you pray it's about getting clorser to God, thanking him, asking for something, or just glorifyng him. So when you pray you can close your eyes or have them open and just start talking to him outloud or silent. Beleive in him. But remember that God will answer your prayer but when he decides to.

According to the scriptures:
1) Alone
2) In a dark room
3) Quietly

How not to do it?
1) In Public
2) Very Loudly
3) While thumping your chest or overacting.

"Be not as the pharisees, who pray openly, loudly crying to God. Rather be in your own home, in the dark, quietly talking to your Creator."

What to pray:
Our Father who is in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.
To thine be glory, the honor, the power
Forever,
In Jesus Name:
Amen.

Or, if you're me:
Good Morning Lord,
Please keep me under your wing today and watch over those I love. Please be with the sick and comfort the dying.

Then I pray for specific people, and then go about my way.

Ask questions or just talk to your soul. Whoever your God is...they will hear you. The only real way to pray is to believe you will get your answers, but understand that they won't come in the form of words or plain black/white print.

You pray from your heart, just talk like your talking to a friend! Remember God already knows your heart and what you are going to say, if you mess it up, he knows what you mean. There is no wrong way to pray. God Bless.

we don’t have to say certain things to get God to do something. prayer is simply talking with God. all you have to do is tell God what your concerns are and ask him for help.

if you want an example of a prayer, read matthew 6:9-13. this passage is known as the lord’s prayer. this isn't a prayer we are to memorize and recite to God. it is an example of the things that should go into a prayer – worship, trust in God, requests, confession, protection, etc... pray for these things, but use your own heartfelt words.
