I have a pudgy face and kind of thick hair. Since I don't know much about fashion, I need help choosing a hairstyle. I was thinking of getting short hair, but I'm not sure..

This is very sleek and sexy it can be achieved with a flat iron and the right products because you have thick hair.

Your goal is to minimize the roundness of your face as much as possible. Kirsten Dunst, a classic round face, shows off a great cut for round faces here.
Why this cut works:

The gentle waves help deflect from the roundness of her face. Extremely curly or flat hair only accentuates roundness. She has just the right amount of curl here.

Styles that fall just below the chin helps elongate the face. You have to be careful with short cuts.

Kirsten's hair has layers, which is important on a round face. You have to be careful with short haircuts, your head can appear rounder with a bob, especially if you were also blessed with a short neck

This is from http://beauty.about.com/od/hairstylephotogalleries/ss/roundfa.htm. This is a really long article, so I only copied part for you. Looks like they have some good ideas in general and worth reading the entire thing.

I'm the opposite of you: narrow oval face with thick hair. I'd be careful about getting a chin-length, layered cut since this is what I have and it makes my face look wider and rounder.

Short thick hair can be cute, however, you have to keep it maintained. Once it starts to grow out it just turns bushy if you dont keep your eye on it. Long layers that frame the face along with side swept bangs elongate the face. When you get ur hair done, tell you stylist EXACTLY what you want! They usually have a pretty good eye for things!

Let's see, for length, I would keep it no shorter than just above the shoulder, but please feel free to go shorter, this is just my personal opinion...lol I'm just not a fan of myself with super short hair! ^.^

Side swept bangs/off-center part always look amazing for round faces, when the hair is cut above the chinline. Either this, or part your hair down the center (for longer styles), which keeps the hair off your forehead, which, in turn, elongates the face.

Layers, layers, layers! I'd keep them between the chin and the tops of your shoulders...this also helps to elongate the face.

I'd also build some extra volume at the crown also to narrow the roundness of your face.

I hope this helps!

One way to determine a perfect hairstyle for you is to find pictures of people with the same facial structure as yourself and make sure its a hairstyle that you can manage. Another way would be to actually contact a salon and set up an appointment with a stylist for an consultation.

Well if you have a rounder face you definitely should stay away from short hair because that will only emphasize your facial shape.. If you want to make your face appear longer and slim try a style medium to long.

This article will help you. It explains the best hair cuts for each face shape & has photos: http://beauty.about.com/od/hairbasics/a/flattering.htm

For more ideas, here is a gallery of hair cuts organized by length : http://www.matrix.com/find_your_hair_style/

Since you have thick hair, consider getting it layered to help give it shape and definition - esp. of you cut it short.

Pick a style that you really like and when you go to the stylist ask them if they think that will be good for you.

If I were you I would grow it out so it's long. That's always pretty for people who have thick hair.

Ask a beautician or barber what style will go with your features. They have seen faces of every shape and know what looks good
