Christmas was never about Jesus...it was merely a holiday that Christians took over as their own to be able to promote their religion better and it has worked with a lot of the dumba**es around the world...Thank God for Santa Claus coming to save the day! One fictional character kicking another's butt! Go Santa Go!

I quit celebrating christmas several years ago. I just can't be a part of something I quit believing in. I'd rather celebrate Festivus, on December 23rd. Seems to make more sense. But I don't celebrate it either. I don't want to erect a Festivus pole or participate in "Feats of Strenght." However, the "Airing of Grievances" sounds like a lot of fun.

Besides, though I cannot find the passage, somewhere in the bible god says not to bring a tree in the house and decorate it. So Christians shouldn't have Christmas trees!

Christmas never was about Jesus - Christmas is an artificial holiday taken from Roman pagan traditions around the year 325 and arbitrarily turned into a christian holiday for mere political expediency only.

The true date of birth of Jesus is lost to history but some speculate he was born in the fall.

True followers of the Word know that Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus. Christmas, as the world knows it, is a pagan celebration that was honored during the Winter Solstice.
Only much later did it become a so-called "christian" celebration.

Then why do you call it CHRISTmas??? No we don't know the exact date Jesus was born, but this is when everyone chooses to celebrate His birth.

Christmas has and always will be about Christ. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to celebrate Christmas. This is a free country.

It hasn't been for a long time. Take a look at your retail stores starting at the beginning of Oct. Christmas has become so commercial that it has lost all of it's meaning.

Excuse me? Jesus IS the reason for the season. It started out that way and will end that way. CHRISTmas is a CHRISTian Holiday always has been always will be. Christians follow Jesus. No one is stopping you from enjoying the Holiday whether you follow Jesus or not. But to say that CHRISTmas is not about Jesus anymore is ignorant.
