I wanted to answer this question but was too late;

I have done some research in the library that indicates that the roman government forced a whole bunch of their pagan beliefs and ancient greek philosophy about afterlife onto the early christians, especially in 325 ad
It seems as though all christian religions are still believing these lies 1,700 years later, even though the bible is clear on the subject as seen by all the scriptures in the question and the best answer.
How is this still going on contrary to the bible?

PLEASE READ THE SCRIPTURES CITED IN THE LINK TO THE OTHER QUESTION.

if you do not read the scriptures in the other question, then you are merely answering out of ignorance, since the scriptures in the other question DO quote Jesus and not the apostles!

to Jim B;

you said "the question is since the whole of the Bible MUST be the truth and the verses you are speaking of talk about the dead being totally DEAD how can verses like:

Luke 23:42-43
And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise."
excellent observation!
Jesus could not have possibly meant "today" as in that very day.
Matthew 16:21; From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
Luke 24:46; And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day
1 Corinthians 15:4; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures

so, one would indeed be calling Jesus a liar if they were to say that Jesus told the thief that he would go to paradise on that same day, since Jesus spent the next 3 days in the grave.
Apparently, the phrase "truly I tell you today..." is like if we in the 21st century were to say "I'm telling you here and now..."
remember, there is no punctuation in the original greek language which the NT was written.

thank you for noticing that question.
it is indeed amazing that people seem to just follow along with these anti-Biblical teachings just because their religious leaders have been saying them over and over since the Roman government took over the church in 325 C.E.

The Romans who had Yhshua/Jesus flogged and killed on request of the Jewish leaders were pagans. Jesus came to reconcile the Jews who were true to YHWH/Jehovah. It wasn't until 3 and a half years after Jesus' sacrifice that non-Jews were accepted as followers of Christ. As more and more gentiles became Christians, they came to outnumber the Jews who made up the first 3 and a half years of the Christian congregation and unfortunately, some of these Romans wanted to bring their old pagan traditions with them into Christianity. This is how the apostasy that was foretold in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 and finalized in 325 A.D. was established; when the Roman government forcibly took over the congregation and created a new church.

That new church infused many pagan teachings, traditions and rituals into Christianity and has produced the majority of so-called 'christian' religions you see today. Any religion that continues the lie that Yhshua/Jesus was born on December 25th or that he rose from the dead on the moon-goddesses holiday or that he is equal to his Almighty Father YHWH/Jehovah is continuing in those pagan Roman traditions.

before Yhshua/Jesus came to earth, the pagan Romans believed in a pagan trinity god.
when the pagan Roman emperor decided it would be in the best interest of his government to control the Christian congregation, he gathered all the religious leaders to a council at Nicea in 325 A.D. to figure out how they could mix the popular pagan rituals, traditions, festivals and beliefs with this growing new cult of Christianity.

They basically came up with a plan of changing the names of all the pagan, false god worshipping rituals that they knew the pagan Romans would not tolerate giving up and gave those rituals that dishonor and anger "the only true God" (John 17:3) YHWH/Jehovah a "christian" facade.
It is like spray painting a dog turd gold and trying to sell it to God as a precious metal!

So, the true holy spirit filled Word of God, the Bible has been pushed aside by most “christians” for "traditions of men"

agape!

I am not willing to call my Lord a liar..
Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
So I can't believe that anyone king, or scholar could add lies placed there 1,700 years earlier or not.
So the question is since the whole of the Bible MUST be the truth and the verses you are speaking of talk about the dead being totally DEAD how can verses like:

Luke 23:42-43
And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

and

Philippians 1:21-23
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
[But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

Therefore the dead He was speaking must be referring to the physical body, while these verses must be speaking of something more spiritual like the spirit of a person... Jim

Yes, Christendom has been misleading its believers for many moons. And why? Because it has been under the influence of Satan. Babylon the Great, the world empire of false religion.

To Jim B. my version of the bible, NWT has a comma after the word Today, which makes more sense. Paradise is an earthly concept, and I think that Jesus was saying the thief would be resurrected at the time that the earth is restored to paradise under his kingdom rule.

I think the history of Early Christianity shows that the Romans were not able to force any beliefs on the Early Christians. What really happened is that as time went on, more and more Christians from a pagan background were imperfectly converted and mixed old beliefs with new. This happened because in the West, Christianity got further and further from the context of Jewish Culture.

That's what Messianic Judaism is all about, recovering the Hebrew understanding of a Hebrew Messiah:)

Because you listen to the words of the apostles and not the words of Jesus. yes I know the NT says this or that but compare what Jesus said and what the church teaches and they are completely different. You may not see this since you use the teachings of the apostles to support your claims, why not use the words of Jesus and see it they support it?

As with anything, if there's no reason not to believe a thing, it takes no faith to believe it. We are called to faith. Evidence is going to mount up against us and against God's Word. God has said it's going to happen, and He's the one doing it so that the world will not be able to believe in Him. Satan is going to be given enough power in the Tribulation to even deceive the elect! Stick to your faith, and hold on to it as if it were your very life, because I assure you, it is.

I read somewhere the other day that current Christianity is based on Paul of Tarsus' version instead of what Jesus actually said or taught.

Paul of Tarsus being Saul the murdering f*ckhead, of course. You'd have to look it up though. I keep seeing the guy who wrote "Misquoting Jesus" on TV. You should check out his book for solid answers.

Yes, there is enough evidence to encourage people to start thinking with their eyes open.

325AD is a year which far too many people are so uneducated about, it's shameful!

That said.....enough people are perpetually and permanently brainwashed to continue the cult.
