Why won't society help you forget? If you were a convicted felon or something..then the best way to overcome your past, is to do nothing but good, and show them that you have changed...good luck

Depends on what you want to forget BillyBonzo... There are degrees of errors, some can be forgiven and forgotten some cannot. Murder or seriously maiming someone cannot ever be forgiven or forgotten even if you paid your debt to society in prison for these acts prove one is dangerous and unreliable. Wetting your pant in the first grade is easily forgiven and forgotten. Where on the scale between these parameters is the error that is troubling you?
What do you do if your error is an unforgettable and unforgivable error. You do the best you can and never commit a similar error but realize you had a chance once like everyone else and you royally screwed up. You let your remaining life and burden become a teaching point for others who may be contemplating doing the same dumb thing you did.
You can't change the past BillyBonzo... That's why you have to try your best to do what's right in the present moment for that is all you have.

I don't feel trapped by my past - but it has definitely had a hand in making me who I am.
I haven't allowed anything from my past to haunt me (although I have to say I have never had anything *terrible* that I have done - mainly been the victim!)
Sometimes you just need to take stock & wear your past if you are not allowed to forget it - use it as a way to teach others (maybe just about you or about themselves) - basically - brazen it out!
Good luck!

Quite simply, get slightly arrogant about it and decide 'fack' society, who cares what they think, they haven't lived your life and been faced with the decisions and situations you have, who are they to judge? Most of them have had charmed lives if they've never had a blemish in their past.
Be true to yourself and keep it real for you, nobody else. Everyone makes mistakes, its the ones who try to better themselves after who are the strong ones. And do it for yourself, if that means moving so you can do it, then do.

I am a very weak person, I always used to pretend I was someone I am just not, so that people would like me. I have spoken to my friends about it and they have all said that I should just be me, so now Im an extremely confident person who does not care what people think of me!
