my dog as just hit 2 yrs and we have been trying to get him to bark when we say *speak* for a yr and a half..........but he can bark we know....* he barks at cars and stuff* we even use treats but he won't we have another dog who will and he is the leader of the 2.................plz some 1 help.......my dog's breed is boxer

Clicker training would probably work best. Here is a book that will help you out a lot:

Catch him when he does bark and say the work "speak" at the same time. After a while he will associate the work "speak" with his barking and he will bark on command.

Also, the best way to get your dog to stop barking is to teach it to bark on command. That way you can also associate "quiet".

Just let your dog bark when he wants to, or is trying to warn you of something. BTW, breed has nothing to do with the willingness to bark on command.

The other dog said" Shut up and let me do the talking" Seriously, I wouldn't worry about it. He just lets the other be the " boss" of the pack.

If the other dog is the leader, the 2yr old knows his place.
Dogs are very pack oriented, & respect their place in it.
