Tap water has a lot of things in it (chlorine, mineral deposit, lime, etc.), where as bottled water doesn't, I think it has something in it, hence the 'best bought by' date, but I'm not sure what it is.

Bottled water has no "bad"chemicals. All of them are removed.
It may be different in some places, but in most places, tap water is clean and ok to drink. Though, the tap water doesn't have all of the chemicals removed. Best idea if you going to drink tap water is to use a filter. As u say, "Water is water"

Tap water differs from location to location, depending on what is in that area. While the basics are the same, there will be different minerals and salts, different additives -- and different contamination due to runoff into the reservoir, etc. The bottled waters go through a purification process to get rid of the "bad" things that can show up in any tap water. (Mine here is town is often brown from rust from the pipes -- not MY pipes, the city pipes!).

"Spring" waters are naturally filtered waters that come from deep underground springs and therefore have no chemicals added and have much less contamination. For someone like me, it is the only way to go -- I can't properly digest tap water and it makes me sick.

Tap water has all kinds of stuff you don't want to drink. like chlorine. I had this guy do this test for me with tap water and when this chemical was put in the tap water all this dirt and sand appeared in tap water. the same chemical was put in bottled drinking water and regular home filtered water. and they both had very little sand/dirt they were equal in amount. but nothing compared to tap water. after what I saw I would never drink tap water unless I have no choice like at restaurants.
