I'm no theologian, myself, but there's an excellent scriptural treatment of Purgatory found here:

http://www.scripturecatholic.com/purgatory.html

Many evangelical protestants have no problem believing in the Trinity, which is only indirectly dealt with in the Bible. They also have no problem believing in the Rapture, which is an entirely non-Scriptural invention. These being the case, I wonder why they are so vehemently against the idea of Purgatory, which is also indirectly dealt with in the Bible.

Ah yes, another great catholic tradition written in stone. I would suppose that many people have their theories on those so-so people and the Catholics aparently think there is middle ground.

2 things.

A. In Luke when Jesus was desribing the rich man and lazarus, I didnt hear the rich man describing anybody between them but an empty chasm.

B. Jesus said in Revelation he prefers that we are either hot or cold for him, but lukewarm isnt going to cut it.

No,Purgatory as the final state of purification and conversion makes complete spiritual Christian sense.

The greedy and exploitive will try to rob anybody he can and any way he can ,especially in violations of the principles,laws and doctrines of the Catholic Church.

from what i have read...purgatory (which is not in the bible)....was created because the catholic church could not answer certain questions about where someones loved one would go if they believed the truth but died in sin....then when some evil pope got in there... and came up with the idea to charge money thats how tey started taking money to get their loved one out of purgatory. but it has changed.

Oh. Another bigoted slam against the Catholic Church thinly disguised as a question.

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.
