You could have. HIV/AIDS virus does not live very long outside of the body.. chances are you didn't... but it is still better to be safe than sorry. There has been no case of a person getting HIV/AIDs from a tattoo. You have more of a chance of getting forms of hep from a tattoo than HIV. Hep can live on surfaces for up to two weeks. You can go back to the tattoo shop and ask to see how they sterilize their equipment and if they reuse needles. They should have an autoclave. They also should be wiping things down in the tattoo area (like chairs and tables) with a strong cleaner like spray 9 or a bleach mix. You have more of a chance of getting forms of hep from a tattoo than HIV.

Yes, that is possible, BUT only if the needle was infected. That means it wasn't sterile when it was used on you. So, if the needle was used on someone who has HIV, and next it was used on you, without being sterilized. If this happend you might have contracted HIV....
If you have doubts, maybe you should visit a doctor for more information and a blood test.

ofcourse you could if the needles are not sterilized properly but... usually the cells die in some hours so unless he uses the same needle in less than like 4-5hours on different people it may be a caution.. otherwise it should not be a problem as HIV cells cant live for more than 4 hours....

that is a possible way to get HIV, but as far as I know, most tattoo artists use brand new needles when doing tattoos. the one that did my tattoo actually let me see him getting the brand new one out so that there were no doubts about it. i hope you didn't though.......if i did i would sue the tattoo artist, that shop should be shut down if they're using dirty needles....

yes you could have. Tattoo parlors need to sterilize needles. You should never let them use a needle that you didnt see them take out of a sealed package.

if you went somewhere gross, and you were tattooed with the same needle as someone with HIV *immediately* after they were. HIV only lives outside a body for 15 minutes, so it is incredibly unlikely. Hepatitus, now that's another story....

yes, only if you went to a really horrible place! Tattoo parlors in Oregon don't ever re-use a needle. that is disgusting, and against the law. go get tested.

It's definetly possible if the place doesn't have proper sterilizing equipment. It' important to remember to check out the tattoo parlor's sterilizing technique before you even get your tattoo, they should have an auto clave like they use in a hospital.
