If you found a cure for cancer and tried to get others to use it would you consider that imposing your beliefs on them?
Christians have an answer for something far worse than cancer.

i don't believe all Christians do
there are many good and decent Christians on the planet who look at the teachings and can find answers to the questions they may have regarding the life they may not attend a church and many of them don't but that don't stop them from trying to lead something like a decent life

the same is true with all the other major belief systems in the world any teaching that can encourage a person to lead a decent and harmless life cant be that bad surely

problems occur when these teachings are used in the wrong way

as there was at one time 6 000 000 000 people on the place
maybe there is that many ways of going about it which one is right

we all do it discover something which we consider to be profound and then try and ram it down the next persons throat like your having some of this whether you want it or not Ive done it myself more than once

we are individuals we have to find our own way home
providing this doesn't interfere with others where is the problem

It's the simple belief that because your philosophy works for you, it will work for everyone. Even if you need to jam it down their throats and legislate it for non-believers.

This is particularly true when the believers in question have political power in a country. Ergo, in the US, they have some, but not complete power and so we have "God" on our money and in our pledge, huge efforts to stop abortion and gay marriage, and the occasional battle to teach our kids the fundamentals of biology. In some countries where that power is held by Muslims and they have even more power and enforce their religious beliefs on the population at large, including visitors (ie when Iran caputred those Brits, they made the woman wear a headcovering).

In America, there is no huge push by Jews to make pork illegal or Hindus to make beef illegal, but I am unsure if that is a factor of them being less inclined to impose their views than Christians and Muslim, or just their lack of power in the U.S.

Anyone know if you can get a steak in India or pork chops in Isreal?

And now I will show you a more excellent way.

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels but do not have Love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

And if I have the gift of Prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have Love, I am nothing.

And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor and if I deliver my body to be burned, but do not have Love, it profits me nothing.

Love is patient, Love is kind, and is not jealous: Love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unseemly; it does not seek its own, it is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the Truth; bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails; but where there is Prophecy, it will pass away, where there are Tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge it will pass away.

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part: but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, I thought as a child, I reasoned as a child. When I became a man I put away childish things.

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face: now I know in part, but then I shall know fully, even as I am known.

So now abide these three things: Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.

Why do Atheists seek to impose their will on others. Is it a form of fascism

I think the Bible tells Christians to spread their ideology and try to convert people. Perhaps its a form of fascism, but its not like they can force you to convert and believe what they believe.

Fascism is a strong word. Do you know what it means?

Genuine Christians are caring who practice their faith and don't impose their views. If asked they will share in a polite, respectful way. If you are offended then you have to ask yourself why.

Your question here is YOU trying to impose YOUR views on others. How are YOU thus different?

Most Christians (I have worked with several hundred different Christian groups, liberal, moderate, conservative, evangelical, non-evangelical, etc) are NOT YET active enough in sharing God's free Gift of Eternal Life in God's Light as a Divinely Beloved son (or daughter) of God, beginning here and now in our Good Master/Maker/Savior Jesus Christ ! In this universe Family of God, it is well that Spirit-led Brothers and Sisters Introduce our Living Loving Father-Son God, here now fully in Spirit, to lovingly and mercifully Teach, Guide, Rehabilitate and Transform us all !

When all the world knows our Father in/as Jesus, the Jesusonian Christian Evangels in His Light and Life will later be thanked for their good, free, loving service work to all others.

Freely in Jesus we have reeived; freely in Jesus we shall share ! -- universally and eternally !

The Living Jesus here gives us a spiritual "en-Theos-iasm" (meaning God within ! and within God !) that can NOT be quietly self-contained without soon "exploding", figuratively speaking, ha ha.

Yes, JESUS' LIVING LOVE VIRUS here is spreading ever and ever faster ! This IS GOD's will; He can not be stopped.

Spread on !

Peace and progress,
Brother Dave, a Jesusonian Christian

Christians do not have to impose anything. God will take care of sinners in the end. We just have to proclaim the gospel to everyone. Our burden is to preach the truth, not force it. Once we do, it is up to you to believe it or not. Our task stops there.
