It seems like most doctors don't actually LISTEN to your symptoms - they just hear a generalized symptom and throw a bunch of pills at the problem. Is there a way to weed out the doctors that are pill pushers and just get a good one that will actually try to fix things?

Hi
I think it's a rare doctor, these days, that will take the time to listen thoroughly and then start with non-pharmaceutical solutions to your health issues.

Unfortunately, many doctors with a preventive, holistic or integrative approach may not take insurance because those companies tell them how to practice medicine. The good news is that some of those docs might have a sliding scale for people without insurance.

Big Pharma, the insurance companies, the AMA and the FDA have been eroding what used to be known as The Art of Medicine for years.

Good luck!

These days doctors tend to take a holistic approach when dealing with patients' probems. That way they can try and find a drug that will help round up all the different symptoms.

My doctor is actually a D.O., not an M.D. They often treat your body as a whole, not just one symptom at a time. He listens to me always and sees my situations in ways that few doctors I've seen before him ever did.

Yeah, sometimes doctors do that, ALOT. You really need to talk to the doctor yourself or else they think pills are going to solve everything

With all the double and triple booking of appointments in offices, it is very hard these days. Make a list of what you want to ask and make him listen.
