Not necesarilly. It is like any debate. (And such a debate is this!!!) The fact that you're in the most popular side doen't make you trustworthy, educated or non-ignorant. First of all: what does it mean to be a Catholic?? It is very subjective.

Investigate. Learn. Look for your own answers. Do not follow everyone else if you haven't make a personal reseach.

Christianism is based on Jesus resurrection; nevetheless, in my personal point of view, a catholic person is a someone who believes in the values that Jesus promoted while He was alive. I'm talking about forgiveness, love, loyalty, faith, social equality. The reason His death was so important and left such commotion, that is remembered in whole world 2000 years later. Above His death, is His life. A Catholic men is far more than a person who goes to church sundays.

To be an atheist is saying you don't believe in Christianism, nor any other religion. Not believing in Jesus, Jehova, Budda, Muhammad, Nature, Desteny... nothing. Then you have to know the reasons you're saying "no".

Any religion is based on faith. That's the reason so many people had quited. How do you know what's true or not?? Science era is getting to its end, or maybe a revolution. To be more precise, no one of us can ever know what happened 2000 years ago. (Come on!!! we cannot even say where of how Hitler died, and not even 100 years had happened since then!!!) We cannot say if He had a child or not, or what exactly happened those times (there was no TV nor cameras... to bad). So that's when faith has its place. True is that Church made a LOT of mistakes, but we're not talking about faith in Church, but faith in Christ. Investigate and make your decision 'bout what is to be a Catholic person, then you can deside if you want to be one or not.

If you research and get your own conclusions and decide to be an atheist giving valid arguments, then, and only then, you can consider yourself trustworthy, educated and non-ignorant. The same if you decide to be a Chatholic person. We're not in Middle Ages (Thanks God!!) Since XVIII Century, mind and science are gifts from God. Use them!! Good luck in your research!!

No, but you would suddenly create the opportunity to become educated and non-ignorant. Christians can be trustworthy, in matters not involving religion.

Well, I think you have to reverse that. Atheism is usually the result of being trustworthy, educated, and non-ignorant.

Although religion is said to 'cleanse' followers, it actually seems to always corrupt the the person. Religion has caused actual problems (war); where as Atheism has really only caused controversy.

Yoda Green, your idea that "we are all born atheists but brainwashing changes that" is actually mistaken. According to Atheists, Atheism is "not believing in a God or diety". But when were born, we're not even aware of the concept of God, so no one could have even decided yet whether to believe in God or not.

Once we're older we can hear about God from our parents (if they believe) or from the children of a believer (if our parents are Atheist). That would be the point when someone becomes an Atheist, if they choose to not believe.

No.
You have to earn trust, get an education and stop ignoring the real world.
Then you'll realize that god is imaginary. When that happens, you become an atheist again (we are all born atheists but brainwashing changes that)

Non Christian words to help you understand us.

You gotta be in it to WIN it...

Christian Words: our mission....
Showing the Love of God with Power and Genuine Demonstration of Righteousness, Peace, and Joy in His Holy Spirit in order to first be with Him and evoke the Faith that is first required for True repentance and change; is required. (Romans 2:4, Hebrews 11:16)

This means that in order to help non Christians understand our existance AS Christians, we should NOT scare you away by UNCHRISTIAN behavior, but HELP you to feel THE POSITIVE effects OF Christian behavior we share, THEN when your heart feels these things YOUR OWN Faith INSTALLS its OWN self in your HEART so that YOU too will "Know" what we HAVE been celebrating (c:

Christians~YOU are getting the questions that non believers fall to when THEY can not wrap their heads around what we tell them.Nons feel like they NEED to discredit the"obvious flaws"in our knowledge. For every person that turns from God or mocks OUR efforts here,THERE ARE OTHERS that are being reached just BY our replies. It may NOT be our Job to reach the very people that try and discredit us.YET,THEY TOO are PART of Gods PLAN.They are here by His GRACE to help US ALL.Whether the nons believe that or NOT is NOT of our concern, because WE know the "truth".WE believe in Gods divine gifts of putting others in our paths to HELP HIS plan. Until a heart is PREPARED to release the mean,or their GRIEFS and turn their lives around, they NEED more information. We are put here by God to RELAY His promises. Why us?Because we have prepared HEARTS and excepted the job of BEING His soldier.Christians that stay here, and NOT leave due to "mean", learn A LOT. Nons R Blessings!STAY and help the lurkers.

Of course not. Sam Harris in "The Atheist Manifesto" says that atheism is merely a refusal to deny the obvious. I agree with him.
