To be frank, this is the most dangerous form of depression, called ' endogenous ' it means from within and is due to brain chemistry problems, including low serotonin levels. It is important that you go see your GP and tell him what you have shared with us. Please try and get some help soon.

DON"T KILL YOURSELF....suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. No method is a good method. If your having thoughts of suicide seek professional help...if you don't want to do that seek help from a hotline or from someone who understands what it's like to feel that way....I know how you feel. I have been there and attempted. I hurt my family and friends deeply. I almost lost my life. I wanted that at the time, but now I am greatful to be alive...I am a mom, I am in school and I am working towards building a great life for me and my son! I still have horrible days, but I pick up the phone and call someone to get me through it. I'm here if you need a listening ear.

More often than not it is not the external stuff that really gets to us and depresses us....it is all the stuff that our inner being is feeding us...we try to turn off the inner being by lashing out at the external stuff and then we start getting really messed up,so to answer your question--yes I think it is possible feel depressed and yes even suicidal without having a real, understandable, reason to kill yourself but you said it yourself it is a fantasy and you know what fantasies are don't you? They are figments of our imagination and therefore are not really real. Please put this fantasy to bed and wake up and see what this "fantasy" of yours would ultimately cost your family and friends.

Depression can cause many negative feeling and emotions...Since you are looking for help is a good sign, you know you truly do not want to do this, find a friend or family member that can assist you in finding help. A psychiatrist can give you meds that will help you to get back to a positive mental status...remember that to hurt yourself is not going to do anything positive regarding your situation. Stop thinking about the easy way out and do the right thing! Be strong and just do the right thing to help yourself!

It is not the answer.
Yes you can feel like that i did for many years, i am still here.
I had alot of help advice and family to support me.
You need to speak to a therapist to resolve why you feel the way you do, as there will be an underlying problem that you dont know about.
It is not worth it my friend, take life by the horns and live it to the full. I am sooo glad i did not go through with it i would have missed out on so much.
Talk to your doc.

Love, of course, these such thoughts come wrapped with a nice bow on top with depression. I suffered through it, and I had attempted suicide. Fortunately, I was not successful. I suggest talking to a therapist. It helps. And if you don't already, get some prescription pills for depression. Many of my best friends were successful when they commited suicide, I had to witness one of them. And I must tell you, it's one of the worst possible things you can do. Suicide is something stupid, and thoughtless. I do understand what you are going through though, and I wish you the best of luck.

what a waste of your life, think of all those people that love you, you will devestate their lives.
I remember when I was a small child arriving home from school one day at my friends house, we walked in the door and found her mother hanging.
Im a photographer and am often called to crime scenes, suicides make me so sad, such a waste of a life.
Do try to have a chat with someone, depression is not something to be taken lightly, or ask your gp to refer you for a blood test as you said you dont really have anything to be depressed about.
If your vitamin B12 is on a very low level, this can cause your sadness.
good luck
take care of yourself
remember
tomorrow could be a beautiful day.

Yes, I've been in your situation. I have a great life (or so people say) because I'm varsity in all my favorite sports, I have two friends, I write music, I play instruments, and yet I still feel suicidal sometimes. I don't know why I have depression but since our brains (depressed brains) are lacking seretonin (the happy chemical) it makes us want to kill ourselves. I'm here if you need to talk.

Yes, it is possible to feel suicidal and have no reason to kill yourself. I suggest voluntarily checking in to a psychiatric center for 72 hours. There the psychiatrist can diagnose your problem and find the right medication for you. Good luck.

See your doctor, and get some medication (if you're already on something, it may need to be increased) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
PLEASE do NOT harm yourself. The way you feel is due to the illness. You WILL feel better, with the right treatment. I promise you that.
The Samaritans are there, at the end of a 'phone, if you need to talk
