noah was in fact a trader on the river when heavy rains hit babylon (present day iraq) which flooded the river ans sent him down the river into the vast open sea, he traded in goods and animals, thus the strory of the animals on the ark, tablets unearthed in iraq confirm just this, even modern theologins know it was just a local flood

" For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered. The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than twenty feet. , Every living thing that moved on the earth perished—birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind. Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died. Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; men and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds of the air were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.
The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days."

Good morning MM...Well if you think about it, it does make sense. Realistically speaking. If one does their research on the geography of that region, one will notice a change that took place since the creation of earth to Noah's era from then to now. The earth is always changing due to weather, erosion, earthquakes and volcano activity. Noah was a trader of imports and exports back in his era. However I question the boat...lol Like Roy Scheider stated on 'Jaws'.." I think we need a bigger boat"!..lol. Now you have to admit..that Noah's boat or Ark was pretty huge according to the Bible. Way to big for just the purpose of the trading business as what Noah did. So I question this. Why would Noah need such a large boat unless God told him to find all the different species of animals? Hmmm...? Now I do believe that the flood could have been local or just primarily around the Middle East region and not the complete earth. Have a blessed day!

Mr mom , your are right in the fact that the flood was not worldwide. But I would call the flood area as regional rather than local. The reason for the flood was the eradication of some half human half supernatural beings in the area. Therefore the flood needed only to be regional. Also being regional it was only necessary to take on board the animals that were indigenous to the region. The rest of your theory is unfounded , IMHO.

How do you know it was only local? If "modern theologians say it was only local, where do they get their information? It's probably only their OPINION.
The Bible says the whole earth was covered. They must have traveled a great distance with all the storms that are talked about and the fact that it rained for a long time. Look at Texas. There is massive flooding there and it wasn't raining constantly for 40 days and 40 nights.
I'll stick with the Bible version over some person that has an opinion.

There is plenty of evidence that there was at one time a world wide flood. The flood caused the earth and things in it to erode and made it look older than it actually is. This has been proven. All over the world scientists have found evidences of a flood. Only thing is, people just won't believe it, or even read such evidences, but yet they accuse us of being closed minded.

If you had torrential rains for 40 days and 40 nights, do you honestly think it would only be a local flood? I don't believe the modern theologians. They weren't there so how can they know it was only local.
Plus, there areas that don't have water but there are fossils of creatures that lived in water. How do these theologians explain that?

Thank you for your question. It brought forth an Epiphany (inspired understanding arising from connecting with profound insight, awareness, or enlightened truth.)
The earth is passing through the same process or pattern as mankind (man). While there is too much detail to go through here, I will summarize.
In the beginning the earth was covered with water and without form, dark.
Man in the beginning (womb) is covered with water and without form.
The earth (dry land) comes forth, enabling plants, animals, and man (life).
Man comes forth and is born.
The earth is buried in water, cleansed from corruption, sin and the death of all that breath, and new life comes forth on the earth. God covenants with the earth and man (rainbow).
Baptism of man in the water where there is no breath of life and comes forth a new man. God covenants with man.
And just as man should be "born of the water and the spirit", the earth will be cleansed with fire.
The earth will die/pass away and become a new earth.
Man will die/pass away and become a resurrected man.
The flood had to be global, it is symbolic of the covenant God makes between himself and the earth and mankind.
Romans 6
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Did you know that the story of the flood in the Bible is not just in the Bible. It is in every culture around the world. So If it in the stories in the Aztecs culture as well as the Bible it just might be true? Not only is it in the Aztecs but all the ancient stories of the American Indians as well.

Did you know there are flood stories in several ancient cultures? That means the known world, most likely the Mideast was flooded. There were also two other rivers that flowed to and around the Tigress and Euphrates that contributed as well. I can't remember their names, but I saw them on an archaeological program.

Hell archeologists and anthroplogists figured that out long ago - and it even makes sense when you look at other world mythologies and they hold the same type of flood story- if you go with the theory that tthat area was the fertile cresent and all human civilization stemmed from there.
If your whole world is this one valley, of course your whole world could flood!
But that doesn't make it a miracle then- so they won't accept it.
