You need to have the vet check and do a fecal exam. I almost lost my puppy to worms. You puppy may have more than one kind of worms. Mine did. It had pin and tape. She almost died. I wonder if the person you bought her from just gave you something over the counter. Not good. Go to the vet. Evita

Get to the vet asap, i would question that the wormers were from a vets as you don't need to re medicate that often and he is only 7 weeks old.
I would get hold of the people you got him off and find out what brand the wormers were. The pup may have got diarrhoea due to a reaction to the tablet but should not still be going after 4 days.
The vet will advise you as to what to do.
Feeding him should be stopped for 24 hours and only water put down to drink.
After the 24 hours, if the diarrhoea has stopped feed small amounts of boiled rice and white fish or boiled chicken. This is gentle on the tummy and will help bind the stools together again. If the diarrhoea hasn't stopped it's the vet thats needed.

This is advise only so PLEASE take your pup to a VET as they are the ones who are trained in animal care.
I assume your pup hasn't had its injections either so he could have picked up a doggie virus / infection that will need treating.
I hope your pup recovers soon x

Good on ya for taking him for help, haven't read others replys but can guess from you that they've been giving you a hard time? I have a little jack myself and he had worms so bad it almost killed him. i don't know what you mean by 'in the middle of worming treatment' though? All i've ever done with mine is give them one tablet and thats it! Perhaps the 'breeder' gave you bad advice, not always the best people to listen too. Hope he's ok now or at least getting there, they are without doubt the most loyal little fella's around and he will bring you many years of fun and laughter and company. let us know how he gets on.

Well since you got the wormer from the vet, I would call him and ask if it is a normal side effect of the wormer he prescribed.. If not, then he'll tell you..

When I go to the vet, and he gives me something for the dogs.. I ask MANY questions, and I always ask him ' What should I watch out for ' ? And ' Is there something I should watch for, so that I know I should bring him back in, or stop giving the medication ' ???
The vet will answer these questions believe it or not.. They find you to be an informed pet owner and are happy to help educate you and give you the information.. If you take your pet to the vet and ask no questions, then he figures you aren't all that concerned and he isn't going to waste his time giving you information you aren't going to listen to anyhow...

Hi Hun, what are you feeding him on? Starve him of food for 24 hours, just giving him small sips of water. After the 24 hour period give him 1 scrambled egg mixed with a little water no milk. After about 4 hours give him a teeny bit of chicken mixed with boiled rice (a couple of tablespoons) and continue for a whole day (every 4 hours or so, if he begs you for more you must refuse). This should sort him out and then get him onto dried food, a puppy complete food. I know this as we had the same with our pup and he was fine after 24 hours and 150quid later from the vets. Try this first and see how you get on (our pup had picked up a virus)... he was only ill for around 4 hours and we took him to the vet and they told us what to do, see if this works for you. Good luck, let us know how the little fella gets on. x

Get him to vets right away, if there is blood in his dioreah you could be in really big trouble as he could have parvo (not sure if that the correct spelling) but he has to go to vets as he is so young and there are lots of things that can wipe him out, Good luck x

Boiling rice and giving the dog the cooled rice water is very good for diarrhea. Antibiotics can also give dogs diarrhea. Keep an I on him and take him back to the vet if he doesn't get any better.

if the pup still has diahorrhea after 4 days you should take him to the vets. It may be that it just does not agree with your puppy and it might be better to try a different brand next time, but it's better safe than sorry...

by all means contact your vet. no dog should have diarreha for that long, he will be dehydrated and you could lose him. puppies dehydrate very quickly. do not give him any regular dog food, just boiled hamburger or ground chicken and rice. bland foods, make sure he isn't eating things out in the yard or helping himself to "tootsie rolls" from a cat liter box. Definitely get him in to see your vet, quickly!

you must definitely get this checked out as its gone on for a few days now. make an appt at your vets quickly as puppies can go down hill very quickly and he may get dehydrated. its always a good idea to get your new pup checked by a vet anyway.
