It's not a question of his being neutered or not, but it is more like teaching him not to jump on people in general. Some people see this as a dominance thing, so they may explain it as the dog is dominating your daughter, but I think it is more akin to just teaching him to respect everyone in the family.

It will take time, but you should tell him "no" make him sit down and then reward him for sitting.

He will eventually learn not to jump on anyone, your daughter included!

The humping is not sex driven act, it is to establish dominance. your daughter needs to teach him she's the boss. Depending on his size when he attempts to jump on her she can turn around so he can't hump her, knee the dog (gently in the chest), or have her carry a squirt bottle full of water and when the dog does this squirt it in the fact with a stream of water. This will not harm the dog only startle it. It will associate the unwanted water in the face with it's behavior and should learn to stop. If your dog likes water, add a little vinegar to the water.

You just need to have her keep pushing him off firmly, and telling him no. It's probably not a sexual thing - he does not "want to make puppies" as someone else said. "Humping" is also a form of dominance, and also a form of play. My spayed females hump my neutered males when they are playing. As socially unacceptable as we humans find it, they are just playing! He can be discouraged if you are firm and consistent.

It is possible that the dog still has the sexual behavior of an adult dog. This normally happens when a dog is fixed after six months of age. It could also be a dominance thing. He is telling your daughter, I am boss. In any behavior case, you must scold the dog and ignore him after. When he does ths pull him off by the scruff of the neck and force him to lay completely down on his side. Tell your daughter to stand over him, this show dominance on her part. You will continue to do so every time the dog does this and eventaully he will stop.

It has nothing to do with "wanting" to make puppies...it has everything to do with a dog wanting to dominate.

This dog is dominating over the little girl..he doesn't see her as "above" him but rather either his equal or below him. He needs to be trained and needs to learn that ALL humans regardless of size or age are "above" him in pack order.

Obedience training and redirection are needed.

Swat him away and say "NO!" in a sharp, firm voice once he so much as even starts. Do not give him any chances to hump on her leg.

Sooner or later he'll get the picture.

good luck!

Your daughter has to tell him no or he will not stop when you are not around. Tell her to be firm and push him down.

He's telling her he's the boss. She needs to correct him and establish that she is the boss not him.
