Why do I crave massive amounts of cake and cookies and whatever, and never get insatiable, overwhelming desire to eat celery? Wouldn't that qualify binge-eating to not be about the desire to eat unreasonable amounts of food, but rather to eat unreasonable amounts of FORBIDDEN food?

Because in Processed food, there are a lot of dangerous ingredients that could trigger your appetite in the wrong way. The white sugar content will mess you up and it triggers you to be addicted to sugar. Also..Make sure you read the ingredients before you put anything in your body.

i think it tends to be what ever you try to deprive yourself of. then when you "fall off the wagon" you tend to overdose on it. Ive started taking the approach that nothing is forbidden. I eat what ever I want - it may be only a bite or 2 of chocolate cake, but i had chocolate cake along with everyone else so i dont feel deprived. I am just trying to make better choices and not deprive my self of anything that will cause me to OD on it the 1st opportunity.

Nobody wants to binge on apples, because they can have an apple every day and remain guiltless. You want forbidden fruit. It has a higher value. You'll feel guilty, but you'll have eaten what you have craved forever.

Cause cakes and cookies are yummy!
Actually those items raise your blood sugar giving you a quick of energy, that your body loves. But soon after you crash and you want more
