I have 4 what I Was told by the man who planted them before we bought this house were, Bradford Pear trees in my Garden. last year they had fruit about the size of a large egg. This year the fruit are bigger, and when I brought some into the house they ripened into what I think are Bartlet OR bosc I tasted one and it was delicious. Could they STILL be Bradford Pears?

Yeah, they actually are a pear tree. They're not just called that for their shape. It's a pear tree that's native to China and Korea. However, the "pears" are usually round and less than 1 inch in diameter, hardly resembling the usual bartlett pear. I have included a link (link #1) to pictures of bradford pear trees and their fruit. Do the trees get the tell-tale stinky white flowers on them in the spring? If it has larger fruit and larger (prettier) flowers, I'd say it's actually one of many European Pear trees, like the usual "Bartlett". (see link #2 below).

A Cleveland Pear is a close relative of the Bradford Pear. It has been hybridized so it is more disease-resistant than the Bradford Pear (or as my husband says, it has to be tougher if it's from Cleveland). If I were you, I'd get the Cleveland Pear.

I do not believe the trees are Bradford Pears. Bradford Pear trees are ornamental hydbrids grafted on hardiers stock. the are supposed to be non fruit bearing.
