When all else fails, try wiping or spraying the walls down with a strong mixture of Clorox. It will stink for a while, but it will bleach them pure white. This also works absolutely great for those of you who have dull stains white kitchen counters! Pour a little Clorox from the bottle onto the counterr, spread it it over the surface with a paper cloth or towel, leave it sit of 10 minutes. Your counte will look like new again. Just be sure to wipe and wash the Clorox off when done, and not to get any on the rugs!

You can buy a little tool that you drag over the grout to remove it, re-grouting is the best way to get it tip top again and it doesn't take too long really.
