Man is not slave to hate; Hate is slave to man.
Unless we become conscious of the reality that the same tolerance we seek to promote amongst non-Muslims.. is the same we need to spread between amongst ourselves.. hate will always be our slaves. There is no point in preaching Allah's message of peace and love unless we find the motive behind this love... the essence of a human. In the Quran.. Allah does not only say.. be kind to your kind... It just says be kind. It is true that some people one sect or the other is wrong.. but think about it..If Allah calls Christians and Jews people of the book just because they are monotheistic and once inherited his true scriptures.. Why wouldn't Shiite be considered Muslim. They are Muslim like us. They too say the Kalima's. Lets all leave it to Allah to decide who is right and who is wrong. Anyone can read and talk about scriptures... But that's like installing the "talk" button in a doll or robot. Dolls and Robots can't act on what is built in them.. but we as humans, given mind and instinct.. have to act upon the Quran. And if the Quran says to be kind to everyone that's what we must do.
O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female and have made you into nations and tribes for you to know one another. Truly, the noblest of you with God is the most pious.2 Truly, God is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (Quran, 49:13)
{O people! Your God is one and your forefather (Adam) is one. An Arab is not better than a non-Arab and a non-Arab is not better than an Arab, and a red (i.e. white tinged with red) person is not better than a black person and a black person is not better than a red person,3 except in piety.}
Truly God commands you to give back trusts to those to whom they are due, and when you judge between people, to judge with justice.... (Quran, 4:58)
May Allah guide us all to the right path. We are at the mercy of his grace. Ameen.
Jazakallah Khair

I will help you in every sort of way possible....We need civilized dialogue - I am a shia muslim and had opened myself to both forms ever since I became aware of the theology of Islam.
I can die for this cause - I want to see shias and sunnis unite or die trying to do so...I want to see the Ummah or be a martyr for the ummah...May Allah (swt) help us...ameen

Well... by developing common sense and emotions of love and unity between all Muslims. Sect is a very, very, very personal thing. There's not much difference between Muslim sects, it's just that Sunnis follow Hadiths regarding the matters of Wazzoo, salah, and aftar of roza, and Shias have their own methods, etc. If Muslim stick to Allah's rope (Qur'an), they will never fight within.

We cannot, because even though there are many willing to achieve this, there are still a majority of them who will not acceot this concept. We can perhaps imporve it slowly, but that would take some more years to complete.
You see, we would need another great prophet to lead us all, and help us realize that there is no Sunni No Shia, just United Muslims.

by using the Qura'an , the Holy Book from Allah and follow the teachings of Islam sent by Allah on His prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and try to behave like him as most as we can, and take ALL his companions as our best ideals in their love for each other and to their prophet, their kindess, noble behaviour, their TRUE love , their love and fear on Islam, and serving Islam as much possible as they can.........these shall be the main concerns of this Muslim Ummah, and nothing else.
peace be upon you all.

I have lots of ppl in my contact list that follow the Sunnah... and don't come from the same sect as I...
I respect them... and most of them have been good friends...
I guess we have to start from ourselves... :)
And be open minded and patient with others...
