Sorry to say this, but your pain will only get WORSE. I've been there... the pain itself made me WANT to get a novocaine injection just to make it stop!
If you have an infection, you could be facing serious consecuences so you should go have it checked out. Worst case scenario; root canal. I had two done in 40mins, piece of cake. No pain at all. Ask your dentist for some oral sedatives so you feel more relaxed (like Halcion) and go!!
The Dr. will probably give you some antibiotics first which will ease the pain in a couple of days, (because he can't work on a tooth that is hurting or sensitive) and after 10 days you'll get the root canal, and poof! Problem gone!
Hope this helps... don't put it off.. it's your health! =)

If it only hurts when you have something cold or sweet in your mouth it is probably just a cavity and it will need filled. If this is the case stay away from sweets and use a straw to help keep the cold away from that tooth until you get to the dentist.
If it is a constant throb that is hot sensitive you probably have an abscess--an infection at the root of the tooth caused by the nerve dying. If this is the case you need to see a dentist ASAP as these only get much more painful. You will need to be put on antibiotics to clear up the infection then have a root canal done if you want to keep the tooth or have it pulled.
Ibuprofen products like Advil are usually the best over the counter pain reliever for toothaches as it helps to reduce any inflammation (swelling) you may have. If you have an abscess you will have swelling and you may not be able to see it right away.
Sorry but the only way to completely get rid of the toothache is to go to the dentist to see why you have the toothache.

i found some Remedies for tooth ache,i hope they help (there all different remedies,
Ingredients = Cucumber
Instructions = cut a good enough piece to fit on the tooth that is hurting or any pain on the body and it will take the pain away. P.S. REMEMBER TO MAKE SURE THAT IT IS REFRIGERATED IT'S A BETTER SOOTHING FEELING
(The get to the dentist as soon as you can)
INGREDIENTS: dried peppermint, salt water, (oats)
INSTRUCTIONS: Place a little wad of dried peppermint leaves around the tooth or abcess, spit out after a few minutes.
If you repeat this several times during the day, it should bring the abcess to the surface, lance it with a pin and treat it again. Rinse with warm salt water. Oats will work to draw out an abcess, but peppermint relieves pain as well.
INGREDIENTS: bolognia
INSTRUCTIONS: this is going to sound insane but this actually worked.just chew on a piece of bolognia for about 30 seconds and then swallow it or spit it out.it only gives you temporarily relief.but it does work.and i do not know why...there must be some ingredient within it.i used standard oscar meyer bolognia.

YOu cant "heal" the pain or the tooth, but there are thingsyou can do to alieviate the pain.
Such as the above answers. aspirin ,or Tylenol.
Id also reccomend clove oil found at local pharmacies.
Its better then commercial topical remedies. Cheaper too.
You just put a little on a cotton ball and set it over the effected tooth then bite down gently. Repeat as needed...it gives you this lovely numb feeling.
Warm compresses to that side of your face may help as well. If this pain continues you may HAVE to see a dentist.
good luck

Just a couple of thoughts:
1) Are you afraid of the dentist? Most of them are VERY NICE, not like the ones you may have remembered as a child. You could take a sedative beforehand, to feel more comfortable. It's better to save the tooth, than to have it pulled, later!
2) If it's too expensive, many have EZ payment plans you can afford.
3) Temporary fixes are just that. If you want nice teeth as an older adult, you may have to make some sacrifices now.
Sorry for your pain. Best of luck!

There is nothing you can do to heal the pain. You can place an aspirin on the tooth and let it disolve (nasty but effective) and it will take the edge off the pain, temporarily.
If the pain persists or comes back repeatedly, you really do need to go see a dentist then. If the pain is caused by heat or cold, then your teeth may be sensetive, but only a dentist can actually fully cure teh ailment that is causing the toothache.

How can you be too busy to end for child's pain? If it's as bad as you say, you should have taken him to the dentist ASAP and only a monster would let their child be in unnecessary pain! Give him a little Orajel to hold him over until you get him to the dentist. Too busy? Have someone else take him. Your mom or dad, his dad, siblings, cousins etc.

I know it sounds crazy but try a warm coke. It works better than anything. Tylenol, Asprin, and Oragel dont do anything. Coke will do the trick for about a 1/2 hour.

Oragel makes a gel that will numb the area for a couple of hours. My husband uses it and it works. you can get it at a grocery store with the toothpaste. But nothings gonna heal the pain completely. This will make it go away.
