While in a recent discussion regarding evolution, I was told, "In a way, we are still apes. We act like them. We think like them." Then, a component of the conversation stated, "Especially Christians." It was then said, "Christians are PROOF that we started out as apes."
Is it possible that they are blatant proof of the truth which they are against?
(I do not mean to be offensive; I'm simply making a point. : ] )

(Christians are constantly at war, both with other Christians, and with other religions. Just look at the relations here between atheists and Christians--some are decent, even good--but others are filled with hatred and anger. This is very much like how chimps fight for territory.)

I am "igorant and uneducated?" I read about religion for 3 hours a day. I'm currently reading the prequel to the Da Vinci Code; simply to better understand it. I strive for knowledge; I THRIVE on it. When I observe something and point it out, I'm chastised for being a TROLL? The human race disgusts me. ESPECIALLY Mr. A.

I realize that humans are animals. Though, in some ways, we are worse--we have the intelligence to be one of the most vengeful, distasteful predators on Earth; we take advantage of this.

Gui--I'd say that Jesus returning here, and the Proper English God arriving, are equally likely. You may be saved by Jesus, but apparently it's too late for you to learn to use commas, in my opinion. Lucky for you, the Proper English God is much more patient than I am.

I can't understand how anyone who shops at Wal-Mart could possibly doubt the fact of evolution.

It's not even a very good point. The truth of the matter is that your talking simian semantics. It depends on how you define an "ape." Biologically we're related, but because biologists have defined humans (genus homo) out of the category of apes, then technically, we're not.
But aside from that, you're insulting Christians in a way that doesn't make your point, but instead suggests that Christians are qualitatively different from other humans. They're not. They may be superstitious, but that's a HUMAN quality, not a Christian one.
There are many proofs of evolution, and there's no reason to divert the thinking from those reasoned, convincing compilations of evidence onto an ad hominem side-track.

Sure, humans share a lot of characteristics with other apes, such as fighting over possessions/territory (as you pointed out), the use of tools, communication, etc. Unbeknowest to Christians who deny evolution, certain behavioral traits they exhibit do, in fact, suggest a link between humans and other apes. Quite ironic, considering the fact that they act like other apes while trying to disprove the very idea that dictates how they behave.

Of course you intended to be offensive! The only evolution that can really be proven is the evolution of the supposition dealing with the origin of man. It goes like this; In the beginning there was an hypothesis. It soon evolved into a theory. Then, through the magic of imaginative science, the theory evolved into a fact. Where is your PROOF of evolution? Not public opinion, not speculation, but PROOF! You don't have it and science knows it doesn't have it. Yet you persist in your mindless babble so caught up in your own baseless understanding and tripping over your own intellect to the point of being disgusting! Offense intended!

I don't have believe in God but I don't think Evolution is proven either. Where is evolution since we began tracking history? It is not a good theory - we are made of the stars and they have all the makings for life. We didn't come from apes.

Evolution is not a science Evolution defies mathematical probability. Evolution defies laws of physics (second law of thermodynamics.)
It’s a hypothesis that has never been proved.
Evolution claims, random change & natural selection make simple things spontaneously transform into more complex things without recourse to intelligent design. Chance and random changes simply do not produce higher levels of organization & complexity.

Humans ARE apes. People need to get over the idea that we are some how set apart from the other animals. Only then can they start to understand.

The fact that so many deny the obvious proof of evolution is an example of how limited our minds can be, showing just another example of how we are not perfect beings, created in "God's image."

Actually humans are apes. Colloquially the word 'ape' refers only to nonhuman apes, but technically as members of the superfamily Hominoidea, we are apes.
