Muslims can't get along with anyone. Jews are just their closest neighbors.

It all started in Biblical times when Jacob (ancestor of the Jews) lived with Esau (ancestor of the Muslims). Esau was older, so Abraham promised him his birthright (inheritance). However, after a tiring day of hunting, Esau got hungry and promised to give Jacob the birthright in exchange for some soup. When Jacob ended up getting the birthright, Esau was pissed and threatened to kill Jacob, so Jacob fled. This was the first conflict between the two religions and it extends back all the way to the children of Abraham, the first man to become a monotheist.

However, Jews and Muslims got over the grudge and in the 9th century, Jews were living in Muslim lands. The Jews paid higher taxes than the Muslims, but considering the time period, the Muslims were relatively tolerant and accomodating.

Things got worse when Christians started to colonize the Middle East. When they colonized these lands, they spread their ideas, some of which were related to anti-semitism, causing tension between the Jews and Muslims.

In 1948, the United Nations voted to turn the British mandate (colony) of Palestine into Jewish and Muslim lands. Although the entire land had more Muslims than Jews, the piece of the mandate given to the Jews had a Jewish majority. This Jewish sector became Israel and the other part became the Palestinian territiories. Once Israel declared its statehood, a group of several (I forget if it was 5 or 6) Muslim countries attacked Israel. As a result of the war, Israel gained land. (Not a lot of land; After all, at certain points Israel's only 10 miles wide.) In 1967, and 1973, the Muslim countries attacked again and Israel won, giving them more land. However, as a result of all these wars, it has become more difficult for anyone to enact measures to help the Palestinian refugees. The Muslims blame this problem on the Jews in Israel. Since some Muslims take this idea further and engage in suicide bombings in Israel, Jews are angry at the Muslims.

In short, the hatred is deeply-rooted and cannot be easily reconciled. Recently, with the creation of Israel, the hatred between both groups has intensified, furthering the unlikelihood that they will get along anytime soon.
However, not all Jews and Muslims hate each other. I'm Jewish and I have Muslim friends and I'm sure that the Muslims I know also have plenty of Jewish friends.

Those who says that it is not religious but instead politics is wrong. Israel and the Muslims are brothers going all the way back to the book of Genesis. The Bible also says that the two brothers will never get along. If it is all politics, why can't we just find someone to make peace between the two nations? We have had numerous charismatic presidents and leaders who are capable of this. It is written that there would never be peace in the middle east. When they do finally have peace, that is when you should be aware of the anti-Christ.
It is said that it is about land but that is what it is masked as. It really is based on religion. There is no where that Israel can go that they won't be persecuted by the Muslims.

The Arab- Israeli war is not a religious war, its a war for land thats been taken unlawfully. During various epochs in Europe when the Jews were persecuted, they would go to Islamic lands, theres a Jewish quarters in Morocco, Syria etc.

The fact is whilst the Muslims were in change they had Jews, Muslims and Christan's living side by side in one city. Until the British came with their mandate in the 1917 and ruined Palestine and made it the mess it is today.

Even further than that during the crusades when the entered Jerusalem, the Crusaders killed every single living thing, man woman, child, Muslim, Christan and Jew.

Whenever an occupation of a land occurs, these things happen because its good for the occupying power because they can justify their claims to others.

The Muslims want to destroy every trace of the Jewish people, the Jews want to live in peace, it simply a matter of survival for the Jews.

They are Abraham's children with different mothers. God said Ishmael would have his hand against every man and every man's hand would be against him. God chose Isaac for the line of Jesus Christ, but God said He would make a great nation for Ishmael. The Jews and Muslims are brothers and they should be loving each other. Jacob went away for 14 years thinking Esau hated him, but when he came back home with his family Jacob and Esau became brothers again.
Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of stew. Jacob wrestled with the Lord. The Lord changed Jacob's name to Israel.

The Jews and Muslims are brothers. They should love each other, but Satan keeps them apart with his lies. The Lord loves them both and He died for both Jews and Muslims.

That goes all the way back to the Old Testament accounts of Abraham, Sarah, Hagar, Issac, and Ishmael (possibly mispelled). Abraham's two sons and their descendants have been fighting ever since.
