I don't know whether to become a christian and get confirmed because I don't believe fully that there is a bearded man looking down on us. I believe in living life to the full and there might be God but I don't want to say that is the only explanation because there could be many different answers.

Why are you so sure that you need any kind of religion?
What you , or any other person needs in order to be a decent human being, is a simple set of morals.
You must discipline yourself to treat others as you want them to treat you. You will not lie, cheat, steal, or murder; and you will refrain from doing these things simply because your common sense tells you that it is the best way for you AND society.
You should be mature enough to follow these standards without needing the rewards and punishments we use to raise a child.
If you have this kind of morality, no reasonable god would ever punish you.
You don't need to prostitute yourself by "worshiping" some god that you've never seen or heard speak, in order to fulfill some mystical and vague notion of an eternal life.

you sound awfully sarcastic about God. this is an important decision you NEED to make: whether you want to conform to the ways of the world or give up all control to Jesus Christ...who lived the life of a human and died for your sins. it doesn't sound like you're ready to make the decision, but it does sound like you're searching. i encourage you to keep investigating christianity for who God is, not for who His followers are. you can't have a faith in mankind...we will always fail your expectations...put your trust in God who will never leave you or forsake you.
