Is there really a place of eternal judgment or damnation or is it just a scare tactic? The answer is yes, there really is a place of eternal judgment. The apostle Paul by inspiration of the Holy Spirit uses the term “in flaming fire”. This is a reference to the second coming of Christ, which follows the catching away of the body of Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;1 Revelation 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

The issue is weather or if we are obedience to the gospel. Mankind has a choice. He can chose to believe the gospel or he can chose to be an unbeliever. The result of this choice is either everlasting blessedness with God in Christ or everlasting conscious torments in the lake of fire. 2 Thessalonians 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; The punishment according to the verse is (1) Everlasting: It last forever. (2) Destruction: rendered useless for the purpose intended. (3) From the presence of the Lord: The unbeliever will never enjoy the sweet presence of the Lord, never hear his voice nor witness all that God is. (4) From the glory of his power: total doom and darkness. 2 Thessalonians 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
1. When He comes to take the church off the earth He has already done all that he is going to do to keep the unbeliever from eternal punishment. 2 Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2. To be glorified in his saints and to be admired in all them that believes.
3. The testimony of the believer in the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ did it all on the cross that was required to bring salvation to all that would trust in that alone. 2 Thessalonians 2: 13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

The next question that always comes up, does God really send people to the Lake of Fire?
The answer of course is no. Man is a free moral agent. If he decides to reject what the Lord has done for him and breaking down the barricade that a loving gracious, merciful God has done for him, he sends himself to hell. Here are some of those barricades:
1. The love of God demonstrated at Calvary: Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
2. He offers full forgiveness of sin: 2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
3. God is not, in this current dispensation of grace of God charging you of your sins. He offers us eternal life as a free gift. All you need do is believe it and receive it. Does a loving God really send people to the lake of fire? No, the sinner must willingly choose to break through the barricades of God’s mercy and grace.

Why was hell created and who will be there? The answer is clear from the scripture that hell was prepared for the devil and his angels. Satan, the fallen angles, the beast, the false prophet and all that never believed the gospel will be there. Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

In conclusion, thee really is a place of eternal torments. God does not send the lost there but they choose to go there, but you do not have to. Believe the Word of God, eternal life is unto all and upon all that believe.

Hell, no I don't believe in it. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that people that don't live by God's Standards burn in a fiery place for all time. Not from the loving God I worship.

Heaven, yes, I do believe it Heaven. That is where Jehovah God lives. As for us going there after we die if we've been good girls and boys, no. The Bible is very clear on this point. Only 144,000 from the earth go there to help rule the earth with Christ after Armageddon.

I believe that there is a literal hell and heaven. Everyone has a spirit, whether you believe it or not. When your physical body dies out, your spirit will either go to heaven or hell depending on how you lived your life and for whom (God or Satan). Although one might not see it, there is a heaven and a hell, it is stated in the Bible, and the Bible is the only book that does not tell lies.

hell is a place ON EARTH when the GOOD MEN DO NOTHING.

I base that on the fact that humanity is failing to fulfil its potential and what I see around me relative to that potential is hell!

Too many of the good men are convinced that the 100 or so years of this life is an easily forgotten speck in the eye of blissful eternity in heaven, and it makes them irresponsible.

So if you believe in eternal paradise don't let it get in the way of being the best you can, and you'll save me from my hell!

based on what I have read in my King James version of the Bible, I wholly believe in a literal Heaven and a literal Hell.

Those who have accepted Jesus as their personal Saviour will spend enternity in Heaven with Him, prasing His name and glorifying Him.

Those who do not believe and have not come to know the Lord as the Saviour will be cast in the actual, real, literal Hell. Not a "hell on Earth" as some believe, but a lake of fire where they will burn in eternal damnation, miserable and alone.

Yes, there is a literal hell and heaven.

I base this on my knowledge of the Bible. Jesus said that there was hell and that people are accountable for their actions not in this life but the next so I am going to take his word for it( as he came back to life from the dead).

Hell and heaven is the only way that life can seem fair, for all the people who had bad lives on earth but are good people.

Belief in heaven and hell is for children. A device invented by religions to control people by fear - Muslims and Christians alike.

When you grow up you realise you have to make choices based on reason, and your own conviction of right and wrong.

There is no real proof of such things, and they are so childish that I could not believe in them when I was age 7. The Bible has many contadictions and pathetic ignorance of science, so i cannot believe anything it says.

Lack of evidence compels me to disbelieve the existence of either heaven or hell.

Certainly, I expect the process of death to feel like SOMEthing; but I'm not in any hurry to find out.
