I was slim when I was young, but I've grown fatter in the last few years.

I'm in my mid thirties, so my metabolism has probably become slower at burning calories.

Also, I have become more depressive, and as a result I resort to foods which make me feel better (candies, pizzas, etc...)

I started to go on a diet this year, and to exercize two months ago, but I don't seem to have lost any weight yet.

Does this mean that it is impossible for me to recover my younger days figure? (Or that the only way, would be by starving?...)

I read an article on weight loss that was really interesting. Some dieters that include exercise in their routine reward themselves for their good workouts with food. I know I've done it. It's easy to think "Hey, I ran 4 miles today, I can have that extra helping of dessert."

I just reached my weight goal on weight watchers and the hardest thing for me to learn was portion control. Even though I'm in my mid-20's, there were many people in my group that were of all ages. Many of these people lost weight at a much higher rate than I did. You just have to stick with it.

Also, try to re-evaluate your diet strategies. Keep a food journal and write down every single thing you eat throughout the day. This is the number one thing they teach you at weight watchers. Keep tab of the time of day you eat too. That way you can literally see what you're eating.

Keep your head up and don't give up. You're doing the right thing for yourself. Weight loss isn't just a temporary thing, it's a whole lifestyle change and that takes a lot of time to get used to.

Not impossible, but harder because your metabolism has slowed down. You can research online for diet tips for aging people or just try to go in a very displined diet.

No there is no such a thing. Our body can always loose weight, but then there is a critical point where it is quite dangerous to loose more.
No need for diet. Eat whatever you want but just put away, %25 of the amount you take in your plate.

Your metabolism slows WAY down in your 30's but it's not impossible to lose weight. Once you start losing, you will hit a plateau which means that you're going to have to work even harder to lose weight. Don't get discouraged, you can do it!
