There are many hundreds of different word changes between the two styles of English, but the language used remains the same - ENGLISH! As Winston Churchill once put it, "We are two nations separated by a common language".
The most popular form of English world wide is the American version. However, coming up hard on the rails is the Harry Potter version of English which has spread far and wide.
When it comes to the four letter word version of English, most Americans use some form of euphemism instead of the rock solid Jeffrey Chaucer version. What we hear then is such as "freaking or freakin" instead of the F-word.
The most humerous version of English is used in the American movie "The Big Country" - here we have two great American actors, Burl Ives and Chuck Connors [father and son in the movie], who between them manage to slowly murder the language so very beautifully. "Them cattle" is the Burl Ives version of "Those cattle" or "The cattle". Brilliant!
Other usefull phrases include Connors, "I'm gonna get me" - whatever it was!

Colour(English) = Color(American)
Lets face it now a days even some Hindi(Indian) words are becoming part of English.
These are a few Hindi words for which there are no English equvalent words
Yoga,Sari,Chutney,Pundit,Guru,Pukka,Bazzar,Pyjama, etc....

In US a man might wear suspenders to hold up his pants - in UK he would be wearing braces to hold up his trousers and would likely get arrested for wearing suspenders in public because they are what a woman wears to hold up her stockings (a garter belt in US).
A jumper (US) is a pinafore dress in UK.
A vest(US) is a waistcoat in UK & a vest in UK is an undershirt in US.
