Many of the most wealthy people around have inherited money that started off ill-gotten, from the slave trade, rum-running, treating workers poorly, insider trading, etc. Use if to make things better.

It depends on the definition of "ill-gotten" that is being used in this sense. If the money was stolen, and I had an idea of where it was stolen from, I would contact the attorney probating the will and ask that I not receive this payment, and that the police be contacted and that it be immediately transferred to the rightful place.
However, you could define "ill-gotten" as money earned by someone with a business that you disagreed with. In that case, I'm not supporting the business just by taking the money that was gained through the business - and I'd have no hesitation in taking the money.

Yes accept. If the ill-gotten money could be restored, then accept and restore. If not accept and use wisely. You are not responsible for others actions and the money does not carry guilt.

Yes, and then I'd use it for charity purposes that would try to make up for the bad things the money came from.

Why wouldn't you? Do you have a better plan for receiving a chunk of money. You didn't do anything wrong, so your hands aren't dirty.

No i wouldn't. its like accepting money that was stolen in a bank raid that you knew of but didn't participate in. you're pratically as guilty as the person that did it, if you accept the money.
