I usually park in garages right near Lincoln Center (around 60th Ave and Broadway). It is a decent location because subways are close by if you need and you can walk through Central Park and its a safe garage. I usually walk down to Midtown, 5th ave shopping and everything from there. Just drive around those couple of blocks there are a few garages. Get there early and they have specials. I only ended up paying 12 bucks for the day because I was there early in the morning.....it was a great deal! Even the guy working there was saying how cheap the parking was here.

Here is a great website to find parking garages and it wil calculate the parking fees for you:

Have fun!

Park in Jersey City near the ferry and take either the PATH train or NY Waterway to Manhattan. Inexpensive parking in Manhattan doesn't exist.

If you're willing to be patient & flexible you can park on the street for free. There are still unmetered blocks on the upper east & west sides (cross streets) & lower east side, alphabet city, Chelsea, etc. While residents tend to nail their cars to the street people are always pulling out. If you patiently cruise, sooner or later something will turn up within walking distance of where you wanna be. Don't leave anything expensive visible in the car & don't park where you wouldn't feel comfortable returning to the car late at nite.

There's a web site: nycgarages, which lists all the 450 or so private garages by location & price range.

If you are coming from the CT area, park at the train station in Stamford and take Metro North in. $8 for 24 hours.

If you are coming from Eastern LI, park in Forrest Hills Queens and take the E subway in. There are a few garages around the station.

If from New Jersey, park near the path and take that in.

From Upstate NY, park along metro north.

Look for a parking lot on Manhattan's west side. You have to get there really early but it's a lot cheaper than garages.

If its on the weekend you can park at many Long Island railroad stations for free and take the train in for approximately 10-15 dollars round trip. Manhasset train station is about 30 minute train ride from the city and has lots of parking. It is on Plandome road in Manhasset
