Not to all of them.
but you'll know if I'm talking about you.

If you don't believe in any god,
why do you spend so much time here talking about him/her?
why does it mean anything to you to accomplish nothing by doing this?

If you have no after life..
why are you wasting your current life doing this?

You would think that with all the things going on in this world...
a mythical creature would be the least of your concerns.

I just wonder.

because I know i wouldn't waste my time talking about something that doesn't apply to my life.

It would be pathetic.

Thank you for all of those who answered with respect.

To those who say that prayer and believeing in a fairy is a waste of life.
Well, don't you think that it's a belief system someone chose to adapt to and so how could it be a waste of time if they find it fulfilling? It might be to you, but it's a legitimate use of their time.

To those who said they're here to educate: No one asked for that. It would be hypocritical to try and convert and turn around and say that religion is bad for trying to put their standards into politics. It is futile to try and have someone adapt to your whole pespective towards life.

and for those who said they've heard this question before, well then no one said you had to answer. "Yawn"
well don't furthur your boredom by respoding to this question because no one cares about that.

Religion isn't a waste of time. Atheism isn't a waste of time. If you're not respectful then no one is going to care to listen.

Some of you didn't even answer the question, just left some smart a** remarks.

when someone asks you a question,
give an answer that is at least some-what related to the question.
I didn't ask about the intellectual level of a christian mind.

If you want to bash on others,
please go else where.
I don't care to read about that.

I spend time in the LGBT section. When in there you can see that at the bottom of the page there are links to the religious questions.

Occasionally i see a question that catches my eye so i come here and do my best to answer.

I imagine this is the reason there are so many R an S people in the LGBT section. Or could it be them wanting to preach at us again?

I don't believe in Santa Claus either. That does not mean it does not impact my life.

I do not believe Spiderman was a real person. Yet watching movies, reading books about him and having discussions are not a waste of time.

If I saw you putting oil in your radiator. I would tell you, you were making a mistake. Even though it would have no impact on my life and benefit me in any way. And I might even waste a little time trying to convince you it was a mistake even if you had faith that that is where the oil goes.

I'm here because I wish to understand why some people can believe and others can not when presented with the exact same information.
I do not see this as wasting my life. In essence there is no point in life, I just plod along trying to understand and hopefully influence the human race for the better.

Something that doesn't apply to my life? I have to put up with religious nutters every single day of my life. They do affect me and I want to know how they can believe in fairy tales.

Atheists spend time talking about god to try to get people to stop believing. There is a lot of evidence against god, and the only real evidence there is for god is the bible, which is untrustworthy, to say the least.
Religious beliefs cause people to spend billions building massive cathedrals and other church-related projects when there are hundreds of millions of children starving across the world.
"because I know i wouldn't waste my time talking about something that doesn't apply to my life."
But it does. Religious war is a grave threat. What would happen if the middle east gained nukes?

The bible says do not judge less you be judged.
Why should atheist not be here.
Maybe they have a genuine interest in religion or seeking answers, even if they don't believe it.(I believe if is right to question our faith to avoid being taken advantage of by religious con men)
Before you run them down ask what would Jesus say
Anyway if you answer them logically then maybe you can change there minds or at least make them realise we are not there enemy.
It is very unlikely we will change each others option's but lets welcome all as our brothers and sisters

You do realise that there's quite a few atheists on yahoo answers

I'm personally just killing some time waiting for my dinner while surfing the net. I like to multi task

It might help if you stopped directing questions to atheists and lying about atheism and for some reason biology

Besides shouldn't you be wasting your time praying to your god. I'm pretty sure he/she/it would consider the internet an idol

The mythical creature is usually right in the middle of everything that is going on. The devil is in the details. Religion is so interwoven into everything. We are just trying to weed the crap out. Atheist Watch"man".

I agree, you're quite pathetic. What could possibly be more pathetic than spending a lifetime believing in kids fairy-tales ?
You talk about wasting time, how about all of that stupid praying, or the preying that the preachers do ?
I just wonder.

Atheists are here like anyone else: To help educate others.

Its probably the same reason you see so many priests and ministers in strip clubs. You go where you feel people need the most help. You don't really think all those priests and ministers are at those strip clubs for the entertainment do you?
