I am referring to groups that take hostages and slaughter them by beheading, or mutilation. Like the wonderful aid worker (a woman that was married to an Iraqi man) They raped her and dismembered body. A woman that dedicated her life to helping the needy of Iraq. There actions come from hell not heaven.

People will do whatever they want to and basically use any excuse to justify their actions. Saying that what they're doing is in the name of God is a pretty safe bet since He doesn't seem to make appearances to contradict people. It is important to remember, however, that just because people do a thing in the name of a religion, that doesn't mean that the religion is behind those actions, or even supports them at all. The Crusades should be enough to teach us that. Indeed, even if a church commits such acts, it doesn't mean at all that the deity they purport to worship approves of their actions. I have no trouble understanding they are fighting for their own lives and the lives of generastions to come against an enemy which has conquered the most powerful nation on earthg. That enemy is big business. People interested only in profit and not caring to provide a service.
