This raises so many questions!! Where to start?

1.) If Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins, why is God "testing" us with false evidence? Is this some sort of supernatural game of "good cop, bad cop"?

2.) If God succeeds in deceiving us with his "planted" evidence, why are we the ones at fault? Are we to outwit God?

3.) If the fossils are planted, wouldn't it be Satan -- NOT God -- who would do that? Is it Satan or God who is The Great Deceiver? Are they one in the same?

4.) Because the world is only 6000 years old, is the lack of human remains and artifacts, among the dinosaur fossils, evidence that God planted the fossils and that dinosaurs never existed?

5.) Wouldn't it be easier to test us by having Genesis describe, in detail, man living among dinosaurs -- then NOT planting dinosaur fossils?

I heard that the New Creation Museum (NCM) also claims God planted fossil evidence . . . but they display man living with dinosaurs?!? Did they exist or not, NCM?

Jeesh!

Please don't tell me you guys think I'm serious!! lol . . . I'm an agnostic freethinker, NOT a fundamentalist Christian!

Think of the 5 questions as 5 challenges to give me 5 logical answers (for or against, doesn't matter).

I really KNEW the creationists out there would be hapless in their response. It's the lack of an articulate response from the evolutionists that really surprises me. So here's my response:

1.) Obviously, Jesus and a "tricky" God are incompatible. It can't work.

2.) This pitfall of the evidence-planting scheme should be obvious to all.

3.) Although Satan doesn't really exist, Satan has the bad reputation for being sneaky; NOT God. Not too sure if God exists . . .

4.) The 6000 year clause seems to be the only thing creationists could attack -- albeit illogically, lol. Take that clause out and apply the rest of the question. It's not the timing -- it's the lack of human remains and artifacts!

5.) This question was facetious and rhetorical; designed only to demonstrate the slippery slope you're stepping on when you suggest God is a deceiver.

The whole point of this exercise was to spur a debate between fundamentalists and everybody else. The great answerers must be asleep now.

Okay . . . well . . . the assertion that God planted the fossil evidence to test man's faith is ridiculous. That the New Creation Museum would repeat this stupid idea is an indictment of their "science".

You creationists didn't make a single logical rebuttal. You offered alternative "interpretations" to scripture. You testified to your unshakable faith. You didn't even defend your God against the awful lie of planted evidence!! Most incredible of all, some of you actually tried to defend the notion that God tried to trick us by planting fossil evidence!! For Christ's sake!!!

I know full well that there's plenty of articulate defenders of evolution on R&S. However, none of them showed up for this posting.

The whole notion of God as evidence-tamperer is ripe with potential for lively debate. I'll have to try again at some other time; perhaps on a weekend evening.

You are asking for logical answers to nonsensical questions. The entire fossil thing has been a knockout blow to religious myth, they just won't admit it.

Dinosaur fossils don't test my faith. I love it when thing old/fosssilized, etc... get found. God is true & it is written that Creation itself is Gods book.

God has things protected for people to find. Also the archaeological finds in the middle east support the whole bible. I think last year an OT psalm from the 1800s was uncovered. It was leather bound & the pages in side was marked to a Psalm that was what was happening to Israel today. It was found in a Scottish borge. The timing of when things get uncovered, etc. Right now many other things are getting uncovered & 2007 is a year of excelleration.

If something is false evidence then the devil planted them. If it is true evidence, then God planted them. In Genesis 1, about the 4th day, God created the Taneem (Hebrew translated to dragon, dinosaur, whale, etc). So? The waters brought these forth, & some adapted to land, the amphibeins & birds (egg layers). So these dinosaur birds would be brought forth from the water also.

Also, the days before the 3rd day when the sun, moon & stars were put into place where different days / periods of time. To God a day is like 1000yrs & 1000yrs like a day.

The whale started to adapt to land but changed its mind. So Stayed in the water.

it is what it is.
I believe what the bible says and not some man's therory the guy with the museum or you. Have you been to the museum or as you said you heard? Go see for yourself before you start throwing stuff out there with no proof to back it up.
Yes I believe dinosaur roamed the earth, fossils are real
God doesn't have to plant evidence He is God. If any one has it wrong it is man not God.
The bible also says that a day is as a thousand years.
There is so many mysteries about the earth.
Real science support genesis . if you really read.
Nothing in the bible has proved to be wrong,
I cant say the thing for some folks theories.

All that i know for sure and that is important to me is.
I know that God, Jesus and the Holy spirit is real.
The evidence of that is my and countless others changed lives God has given me beauty for ashes.
The doubting Thomas. and people who like to pretend to be intelligent and spout twisted statements that blasphemous and just plain laughable.

Quote: 4. ) Because the world is only 6000 years old,

What kind of nonsense is this? The Bible nowhere, nowhere at all shows this to be so. Contrarily, it shows that the heavens and the earth were created in the BEGINNING.

Learn to read!

Genesis 1:11 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (ACV)

When exactly is beginning? One billion, 15, 30 -- Thus the Bible permits us to set the earth's age according to what the scientists believe.

The creative days also are possibly very long.

The earth does not have to be 6000 years old for Creationism to be true.

For a day to the Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day to Him.

There are several Creationist theory's that can account for an older earth.

There is the 7-24 hour days that are non-linear theory of creation-in other words the seven days of creation could have been separated by long periods of time.

There is the 7 non-24 hour day theory of creation. Where God created the world in 7 days but they were very long days.

Lastly, there is the 7 non-linear non-24 hour day theory.

The mystery's of faith an GOD are beyond human comprehension. Faith concerns questions which cannot be settled by evidence. How can the universe create itself out of nothingness? Given the fact that the universe began to exist, it must have had a “cause” that originated it.Doesn't it make more sense to assume the existence of a Creation. You can't see the wind, but you know it is there because you can see what the wind is doing. You can know that the wind is there because you can feel it.God is like the wind, you can't see him. ~~~~~~~

First...the earth is more than 6000 years old, more like a billion. Anyhow, fossils take hundreds of thousands of years to form. More evidence is "marble", and the marble deposits in the US and Europe, what about oil? crude subterreanian oil is well over 10,000 years old.

Lets look at plate tectonics. If god may this earth, then why are the continets still moving? Why is Mt Everest getting bigger? Why are kangaroos only found in Australia?

We evolved...we have tailbones..why? Why do dolphins and whales have finger and toe bones in their fins?

I don't think I will ever -- ever! -- understand why some faithful Christians will not accept evolution as more evidence of God's magnificence, but instead weave fairy tales to force absolute fact to bend to a book. That book, mind you, may be the word of God, but it was written by MANY MEN.

Ever play post office? Ever hear the tale of the three blind men and the elephant?

Evolution doesn't invalidate the Bible, IMO, it complements it (as will the discovery of life on other planets, when that eventually happens).

Do you think God had to make the earth absolutely brand new? Don't you think the methods of dating might be wrong? Don't you think there might be a logical explanation to the fossils other than they are millions of years old?

The dating methods are based on fallible assumptions.
