Many pain killers will leave your stomach nauseated if you don't eat something first before taking it. NEVER take a pain killer on an empty stomach!! You can eat a piece of toast or crackers to settle your stomach...but the icky sicky feeling shouldn't last long. Once you get something in your stomach you should feel better...then give yourself a good food base before taking another pain killer. Good luck to you.

Codine also makes me sick to my stomach. One thing i learned is to not take it on an empty stomach. It seems to make it worse.

I'm not sure what you can eat to settle your stomach. This sourt of just has to wear off...

Some toast probably wouldnt hurt (no butter, the grease may not be good for your stomach..)

I wouldnt eat anything too heavy. Do you have any popsicles? sometimes those help to hydrate you (make sure you stay hydrated, espically after a surgery)

Or you can give your mom a call at work and ask her to call the doctor or give you the number. If you know your doctors name you can look up the number in the phone book/online ... or if you have the number you can call yourself.

I know your young and its probably weird to call the doctor by yourself... but its not so bad. Also - it probably wasnt your regular pediatrition who did the surgery...it was probably a different doctor - but I dont think it would hurt to call your regular doctor if it makes you feel more comfortable.

Good luck.

But how come you are at home one day after a surgery? Call her at work and ask her to take the day off and help you.
