Just as the scripture you cite says, learning about God and Christ means eternal life. We can not be obedient to God if we do not know what he requires of us. We can only find this out through a study of the Bible.
The other scripture you cite lets us know that we should expect persecution for trying to live a Godly life, which begins with studying the Bible. Unfortunately at times the persecution comes from within our own families or close friends. Jesus warned of this when he said "And a man's foes shall be they of his own household" (Matthew 10:36)In most cases this is due to their ignorance of God's word and the wonderful blessings that come from whole-souled service to God. If we do not allow this to deter us, another blessing could possibly be our loved one(s) coming to an accurate knowledge of the truth of God's word, and worshiping God along side us. (1Corinthians 7:16)

The final e book interior the Bible is composed of the words, "it relatively is the know GOD, no longer something would be extra, no longer something would be taken away" the two the Hebrew and Christian faiths have confidence that the Bible, nonetheless written via guy, replace into written under/with GOD controlling the writers so as that for the period of basic terms GODS actuality is written. If we do no longer have confidence that, then neither faith has a respected authority, in the international, from which to bias there faith. Believing the Bible, then, because it relatively is written, no person would replace what's WRITTEN. on the instant exist many, many in yet differently worded books, revealed under the call BIBLE! guy has the audacity to submit variations of the Bible, or the hot ????? Bible, etc, etc, etc. In all of those the text fabric has been altered, replace to experience who ever whim and overlook approximately GODS text fabric! Use the internet, historic previous of the Bible, the oldest Latin translation into English would be regarding the perfect you're able to do. all something have wordings relative to what the writer had to assert, quite of conserving to GODS be conscious, no longer something gets replaced!

Some probably do so out of sincere motives. Perhaps they are unaware of the wondrous things to be found in the Bible. Or maybe it is due to the traditional viewpoints of some regarding certain ones who offer to study the Bible.

Considering the importance placed on gaining this knowledge, as found in the scripture you cite (John 17:3), it would certainly be beneficial for us to undertake a study. Christ made it plain that everlasting life is dependent upon taking in knowledge of these two people mentioned at John 17:3. Clearly, our very lives are involved.

Contrary to the rantings of some of the anti-theists who frequent this forum, the Bible is a valuable resource whether one accepts it as the word of God or not.
It contains historic references that sort of fill in the blanks of some secular sources. It is a common-sense guide in many life situations that have little or nothing to do with religion or worship.
As a literary source, it includes comedy, drama, horror and fantasy.
Those who discourage a study of it are either among the anti-theists mentioned above, or they simply want their family and friends to come the same conclusions they have and are afraid that it will change them. They themselves are satisfied with the status-quo and want their family and friends to be that way too.

To gain everlasting life we have to take in knowledge of the only true God and the one He sent forth Jesus Christ. The only place to find this knowledge is in God's Word, the Bible.

Many people find that studying the Bible is wrong. They rely on their preacher or minister to tell them what it says. I for one want to read it for myself as humans are not perfect.

An example of listening to a Priest and not the Bible is someone paying the Priest to pray for a dead loved one. Why couldn't the person do his own praying for the dead loved one? We are all = in God's eyes so no clergy has a better connection to God.

People do not know the importance of knowing God's word. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge. Knowing the word of God brings us success in living out our Christian lives. God's word is truth (John17:17). The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth who will write the truth in our hearts and minds when we study the truth and He gives us the revelation. Then faith will come to us (Romans 10:17) to apply that truth in our lives and we then can enjoy the promise of God by faith. The more truth we know the more of God's promises we enjoy.

Because somebody has to. That way, we can point out qoutes like these:

Exodus 21:20-21 – "If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property."

Exodus 35:2 – "For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death."

Luke 14:26 – " If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple."

Hosea 13:16 - "The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open."

Those who claim the Bible to be beautiful and full of morals have obviously never read the thing. They will, however, blindly follow the basic ideas that their church, family, and friends tell them to. If we can't qoute the bad with the good, no one else will. So please do study the Bible.

We should study the Bible because it's the only way to learn about God and His salvation plan. It is the only thing that can give spiritual life.
(1 John 1:1 KJV) That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

Many people are discouraged from studying the Bible because Satan works overtime to keep people in darkness and blind in their sins.
(Mark 4:15 KJV) And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

Finally, Unless God saves you, no one wants to do what they perceive as being impossible to do.

(Luke 8:21 KJV) And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

(Luke 18:27 KJV) And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

The Bible is not god's word! Christianity is nothing but plagiarized mythology. I study the Bible to help educate "believers" about what the Bible really says. The more Christians learn about the Bible, the fewer Christians there will be.
