I don't think that you can actually pay to have points removed. But what you can do is take the 6 hour class, a.k.a. the defensive driving course. Taking this class will remove four points from your license. The class around $50 in NYC. Most driving schools offer this course at least once a month. Here is a website that list driving schools by state and city.

Points stay on your license for 3 years (36 months). I hope this helps and good luck.

As you may have noticed, things vary from area to area. I have not heard of "paying" to have points removed. Some States offer a class that will remove a certain number of points. In Florida, you could take a 4 hour course for $39 that removed up to 2 points for minor infractions. They also had a mandatory 8 hour class for DUI. These classes were limited to one class per year. The nice thing in Florida was that after taking the class, even your insurance company could not raise your premium and the points were actually removed.

Points last 3 years, in most states.

If you get busted again, ask the judge if you can take defensive driving instead. You spend $25 for the class, and no points get added to your license.

Buying points off your license is non-existent. Trust me, I tried. That was a big Internet hoax a while ago. Unless, of course, you know a crooked person that works at your local courthouse...

Points for speeding, for example, stay on your licence and 'active' for 3 years. 'Active' means that if you get any more points, they will go towards the total of 12 needed for a ban, under the totting-up procedure.

They will then stay on as 'inactive' for a further 12 months (a total of 4 years after the date of conviction). They do not count towards the totting up procedure and you can have them removed at the end of that time - currently the fee to do this is about £20.

You must also declare them to your insurer for 5 years after the date of conviction, even though they will no longer be on your licence.

Didn't know you could bribe your way to getting them removed. Perhaps you are thinking of doing a driving awareness course when you get found speeding. Some areas will offer you the option of points on your licence or, in addition to your £60 fine - do the course for a fee of £15 - then no points.

Also believe points stay on for 3 years ( 4 for insurance purposes) unless otherwise directed by the courts.

Hi, unless the law has changed there is only one way that points on your licence will be removed {three years have passed from when you was awarded the for mentioned}

PS If you was given a ban from driving, then you would be able to ask to have your ban withdraw-en after some time has passed but you will need to come up with a good reason why they should consider this .

You can't buy points off your licence. They can be removed physically after 4 (four) years if you send your licence to DVLA and pay a fee but the convictions themselves are not spent for 5 years. (Different rules apply to DR convictions). They can be removed because they would not be used for 'totting-up' disqualifications.

As insurance companies ask for convictions for 5 years (including convictions where the endorsement has been removed) then I would not bother removing them from the licence - they are pointless - so you can remember the codes/ fine/ points etc.

After 5 years it is a criminal offence for anyone to use the convictions to alter your insurance premium. (Rehabilitation of offender's Act)

Points on your license are a penalty and cannot be removed.

They certainly cannot be bought back.

They normally last 3 years so drive carefully and legally

When they have expired you can apply for a new license (ask DVLA for cost) or move house they will re-issue for free.

60 dollars for an online traffic school course. Attending traffic safety school removes a maximum of 3 demerit points. However, the record of the conviction remains part of your driving history.

VIOLATIONS & DEMERITS ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS

Most but not ALL violations are reportable to your insurance company for 3 years. (Nevada) But may vary per state.

Demerit points are counted during a 12 month period.
If you receive 12 or more points in any 12-month period, your license will be suspended.
