I HATE when people stare at me! And they do it all the time! I live in an extremely culturally diverse area, so it has nothing to do w/ race. They just stare, turning their heads to keep up w/ me and everything! I used to get a little combative at prolonged staring ("WHAT???!"), but now I politely ask, "Hi there! Do you need something from me?" Turns out, they always think I look familiar: a co-worker, cousin, someone they hung out w/ in the past. And some have said that the things I do are interesting. So? It's worse in the Dominican Republic, where my husband's from. People will come out of their houses to stare. I hate it. I told my husband that in the U.S., staring is a challenge...an invitation to fight. It's a shame that it angers me, b/c those same people will then turn around and invite us in for coffee or a meal and are very nice. I just try to ignore starers, but I do speak up if it gets out of hand.

Depends how obvious they are. I don't like people staring like a fool and not saying anything or if they are big jerks about it. But attention is great!

Depends on why they are looking at me. If their checking me out, then its ok, if they are staring at some stain on my shirt than I would tend to get a little angry.

Generally, no problem! sometimes, in some circumstances, in public places, staring puts me on guard, makes me nervous!
