Genesis 6-7:
God drowns everything, including every newborn, infant, toddler, and child.

Matthew 24: 38-39:
God drowned them without warning.

If you think worshipping that thing for eternity is a "carrot", think again.

If you think being condemned by a monster is a "stick", think again.

You may hate humanity enough to worship the thing that tried to wipe it out, but there are those who love humanity, compassion and justice who refuse to bend knee to a god-construct so immature and malicious as to make Satan blush.

Why do you worship such an atrocity-monger as this thing in your bible?

I didn't say Genesis 1: 6-7.

I said Genesis 6-7, as in the chapters.

Or is there yet another world wide flood killing everyone that I am unaware of?

Because of what Orwell called the Internalized Contradiction.
Inundate someone through brainwashing to accept small contradictions such as that atrocity monger is all loving, a virgin can give birth, etc.
Then larger contradictions such as surviving death, rich preachers need poor working people's money, and institutionalized child molestation is the way of the "One True Church!" seem believable.

SLAVERY is FREEDOM
WAR is PEACE
etc, etc

Genesis 6 & 7 -
6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so.

I don't know what version you're reading..but you gotta get rid of it, because that 'monster' you're reading about is non-existent.

Matthew 24
38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

God did warn them - He sent Noah to warn them, Noah did so and they laughed.
I recommend that you go buy a good King James Version, and you will see God in a totally different light.

I'm not blaming you for being victimised, when you enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ - your life will be changed for the better. God bless. Here's a good website -
www.biblegateway.com
you can check out different versions there.

A question that I my self have asked for a long time. And I am a christian. I've just come to the conclusion that I DON'T believe everything that is in the Bible. I think that it is darn right ridiculous that one being can wipe out the whole world, one in which is said that he had made, and them turn around and wipe out the Egyptian because they used HIS people as slaves, man you want to talk about a contradiction if you ever heard one. We are raised to believe that all people are God's people, but yet here to find out, according to the bible, its only the Hebrews. So yeah, like I said, i just don't believe everything that the bible says.

God created it, He sure as heck can destroy it if He wants to. He gave Adam and Eve instructions after they got kicked out of Eden and before Adam was even in the grave, you had the following scenario:
Gen 6:5 And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and EVERY imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only EVIL CONTINUALLY.
Gen 6:6 And Jehovah repented that He had made man on the earth, and He was angry to His heart.

Mankind had so thoroughly corrupted itself in less than a millenia, God was angry with Himself for creating man! You know the analogy of the potter and the clay, right? If the potter don't like how his pot is turning out, what does he do with it? Chunk it and start over. There ya go, thats exactly what God did. Sorry it doesn't met with your approval, but those were not innocent people we are talking about here, the children would have grown up to be just a wicked as their parents (led by example).

Life on this earth is not the end! The innocent went straight to heaven! God did the Sweet little children a favor by calling them home.

P.S. I stared this question so my contacts can also answer.

Everything I have read about God in the Bible (and I have read all of it more than once) is terrible. He is one of the most objectionable beings in supposed existence. If they had tried to come up with a monster that all of humanity should unite to destroy in some sci fi horror, they would struggle to invent one worse.

When someone describes an act as evil I always find it pales into insignificance against what God does. I mean, Hitler was a pussycat by comparison - he may have attempted genocide, but the God of the Bible succeeded on more than one occassion, and was proud of it.

God destroyed the earth because of the awful sins that man were involved in. If you read further in the Bible, God made a covenant with Noah to never destroy the earth again. God is a God of mercy and love. Do what He asks. That's all He wants.

Well, I think I will find a pretty pink one and tie a couple of balloons to it. Then I'd wave it a little bit in your face to see what you did, then get bored of the hatred you spouted and go for a drink down the pub.
