Love one another but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together, yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.

To begin, it should never be expressed unless it is felt.

When felt, it should be expressed appropriately depending upon the relationship (parent/child, siblings, mates, friends or Divinity). Only the last should ever approach all consuming options.

This is how I FEEL love should be expressed:

Most would say it should be expressed in thought, words and deeds. Too many leave out the thoughts. Too many forget that sometimes NOT saying something (especially in anger) might be more important than saying something not felt.

By being patient and kind, by protecting, nurturing and trusting. Never being envious, jealous, proud, rude, angry or self-seeking. By accepting and not judging.

For humans, Touch is important. A simple physical contact, a hug, a massage, and sexual activities when appropriate.

"I love you" and breakfast in bed go a long way! The little things can express love in the biggest ways...
Like my fiance skipping track after track on a CD we were listening to and just when I was getting annoyed at only hearing the first 3 seconds of each song, he wound up the volume and turned to me with a big smile because he'd found my favorite song.
Like when he goes to the bakery when it's still dark to get a the freshest, warmest crossant for my brecky.
Like when he sneaks out of bed at 5am to do the dishes for me.
All those little deeds and moments are the ones that say 'I love you' the best.

With no words. To express love through the eyes, a touch of hand to the cheek, a soft breath heard when sharing a hug, a smile that belongs to that dear one alone. True, authentic love is felt through these.

There are many ways in which to express your love for somebody, but I believe the best way is in the form of words .. because confessing your undying love for somebody should give them most beautiful feeling in the world and if it doesn't then that means the love is not real .. time is another important factor, if they are to be there holding your hand when you need them most even though that may not be the most convenient for them .. the love is real.
Therefore my answer .. words & time !

All the above are wonderful answers.

In my mind, it should be expressed without regret with full intent for the other person's benefit only and with no expectation of it ever being returned.

Gently, tenderly, so that it does not overwhelmed the loved one. And perhaps just a little ambiguously if you are not sure how it will be received. To me, the best way is to do nice things for the one you love. Things they actually want, that make their life nicer.

By planting seeds. Helping those that can't help themselves monetarily or with action. Through prayer. Teaching those that would learn. By doing something to make some one Else's life better.
God Bless!

Love can be expressed in many ways(sex being my favorite with my wife)But there are many forms of love, not just sexual love. There is no "best" way to express love.In my view, love is whenever you desire to give(money, time, pleasure, praise, help)without needing anything in return. In my opinion, that is what true love is.
