Some people seem to take the husk off to grill the corn. The only reason I could see of doing that is if you want grill marks on the corn.
We leave the husk on to grill. Peel back the husk and remove the silk hairs. Put the husk back up around the cob. Soak the corn in a tub of water for 1-3 hours. Cook over medium heat 20-30 minutes, turning frequently.
The water soak is so the husks dont burn. As the corn cools a bit after cooking, peel back the husk and use it as a handle. Enjoy! :)

Grilling Sweet Corn
Peel back the husk without removing it from the corn cob.Remove the thin silk that runs along the kernels of the corn. Remove excess silk with a vegetable brush or with a damp paper towel.Fold husk back. Secure husk with kitchen twine.Soak the corn in water for 1 to 3 hours before placing on the grill.Place prepared corn on the grill directly over medium heat.Cook 20 to 30 minutes, turning frequently throughout cooking time. Corn is done when it starts to steam. When done, the husks will be charred but the corn inside the husks will be sweet and tender with a nice roasted flavor.

First, I peel back the husk from each ear without removing it from the corn cob, then I remove that silk that runs along the kernels of the corn and fold husk back over the ear. Then I soak the corn in water for an hour or two, then put it on the grill over medium heat. Turn it frequently and let it cook 20 minutes or so. It's done when it starts to steam. The husks will be charred, but the corn inside will be nice and sweet!

Sweet corn on the grill is the BEST! With shuck on the corn..my husband soaks it at least 4 hours in a utility bucket of water outside, fully submersed. Then takes it out and places it on the grill and just turns it often and until it gets VERY slightly browned on the shuck...he has a garbage can right by him and with hot pad gloves he shucks the corn and then brings it inside all clean and ready for butter. Depending of course how hot your grill is will determine how long you keep it on the grill...he takes his time so he has it on medium heat. Meanwhile I am inside melting fresh butter...NOT margarine. We use a pastry brush to spread the melted butter. I also add cajun seasoning on my corn for a change.

Best to microwave it first. but you can cook on BBQ alone by wrapping it in tinfoil with plent of butter inside and then just place on the grill - done in about 20 mins

Rub butter or mayonaise on the cob.
Season with salt and pepper.

I like it on the grill it has a sweeter taste.
just rub some olive oil on the cobs and just keep turning it every so often so it does not burn.
I am sure you will love how it turns out.
