I see so you cant defend their vote against securing our borders you have to bring other things up that are irrelevant to the question

they proposed a flawed immigration bill, by-passing all rules of procedure, that was to supposedly cure all those ills, but when they won't /can't enforce the existing laws (' 86) that was suppose to correct them back then but again NO provisions for enforcement.

Polosi and Reid tried to kill he JON DOE Amendment but failed so average citizens cannot be sued for reporting suspicious behavior.

Dems attempt to remove these protections in the name of saving us from the ravages of racial profiling, it's likely the Dems allowed the language in order to avoid being further painted as soft on terrorism.

they held a slumber party that was only political grandstanding and only made them look ridiculous, our tax dollars at work?

they have spend, so far 9+ man YEARS and 400,000+ documents trying to find some criminal act by the bush administration...i don't know how much that translates into tax dollar but i am sure it is in the millions.

those resources could be used to actually accomplish something if they didn't have such a vendetta we might have a good immigration bill and one that would be enforceable.

Each party makes promises they can't keep, but I believe that this does seem to run from the issue they said they'd take care of. How is border enforcement going against the isse of wanting secure borders? Shouldn't that been an obvious vote to vote for it?

I think it was very deceiving. I'm a Republican and I can admit that both parties have liars, but this is a pretty easy one to spot. God help us!

Another Nay Sayer, Your party had complete control of the government and did not do anything to secure the borders, Yes I know the truth hurts, but you voted that useless party and president into office , do not blame us for that. That control is gone and now congress must come up with a law that is truly Bipartisan, the good old GOP days are gone.

All politicians lie. It comes down to votes and money and their own interests, NOT what's best for America or its citizens.

What they say, what they do, and what they believe are totally different things.

Of course they lied! They feel that its not that important. Having voted against border enforcement just shows what hypocrites they really can be..

Explain to me how to secure our borders. On the Mexican side we have a border that runs about 1,951 miles and on the Canadian side it runs about 3,987 miles. Let's see what great ideas you come up with that aren't a waste of money and time that actually secure our borders more than they already are.\

........and obviously from the votes here. Reality has no place in your worlds huh????

No. Its just that the borders are already pretty secure. there is no way to make them airtight. Its more a matter of personal privacy. Travel used to be something glamerous, today its just another reason for a humiliating public strip search. I think we all miss the days when travel was less inconvenient.
