I just recieved a ticket tonight. I was driving my friends car that was just recently purchased within the last week. He hasnt changed the title, gotten it registered or have insurance on the vehicle. So I recieved a citation for no proof of insurance and registration. The mistake on the ticket is my birthdate says I was born in 03. Obviously that is a mistake and I was told I might be able to get the ticket dismissed because the fines for these violations are somewhat high. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

You shouldn't have been driving a vehicle that wasn't registered and had no insurance. Period. End of story. Imagine what deep crap you'd be in if you'd been in an accident.

You can't get the ticket dismissed for a simple typographical error. You're on the hook for this, and it's going to cost you big. Learn from your mistake.

Don't hold your breath. Traffic court is not like criminal court. You would probably be further ahead to pay the ticket since these are not usually considered "moving violations" and do not add points to your license. (May be different where you live) If you go to court, you will probably be found guilty and also have to pay court costs.

If it is a purely clerical error, forget it. It does not alter the facts.
