I've just bought an old game from E-bay, only to find out it doesn't run on Windows XP. I thought all modern p.c.'s would be backwards compatible? If not, is there any software I can use to play it?

For anyone who knows, it says: 95/98/98se/Me compatible. This game is not compatible with Windows 2000 Pro.

The statement 95/98/98se/Me compatible should have given you a clue, because Windows 2000 is not mentioned. Each new version of Windows is an advancement in technology and is also a ploy by manufacturers to make people purchase new software to be compatible with it. I think your old game is a lame duck. Cut your losses and learn from the experience.

Games designed for Windows 98 should run on Windos XP.

Have you actually tried installing it yet?

Click on Start and then select Help and Support.

Type: compatibility and press search.
