A Chinese-American may apply for a Multiple Entry "L" Visa valid for 24 months.

I went to China a few years ago and got my visa at the Chinese Embassy in San Francisco. Check for the nearest Chinese Embassy to where you live. You will need two recent passport photos and be prepared to turn over your passport for a week. If you are traveling with an organized trip, they will often arrange to obtain the visa for each person on the trip. I believe that if you don't live near an Embassy, you may be able to utilize a service to obtain the via on your behalf.

Hi I was there last year. Dont know if this will help much as I was living in The Netherlands at the time. I visited the Homepage of the Chinese embassy in The Hague and informed myself there. Although it saounded quite complicated, it was really very easy and only took 20 Minues at the embassy there. One nasty thing was that you could choose between waiting for 4-6 weeks and pay 35Euros or 20 minutes and pay 110 Euros. Contact the Chinese embassy in your area for info and help
