empty barrels make the most noise, and it is often the dimmest of these minds making the boldest pronouncements regarding the nature of virtue, sin, and reality itself; this is apparently quite a relief for many people, primarily those who find critical thinking to be a chore. the sheep elect the zealots, and thats how we got to be in the mess we are in, from the white house to the taliban

Personally i know there isnt a god, so the thing that bothers me the most are the christians that will tell me they devote their whole lives to something they found in a story book and then argue with me that im going to a place i dont believe in because i refuse to have faith. Faith is a crutch. The only higher power is another species on another planet that evolved into intelligent free thinking organisms before we did.

I am against the notion of any god, spirit, mythical figure, etc . .
I do not think that there is some kind of higher being above our own comprehension.
I aslo do not believe that we humans are the 'be-all-and-end-all' of evolution.

I do, however, believe that we are not capable of working out what the truth is, our brains are too logical so we cannot accept the 'no beginning' conundrum that we are faced with.

I have but two grievances against religion. These are:

1) The most obvious--blind obedience and the resulting ignorance.

2) Most religions try to force their bull**** down every infidel's or heathen's throat.

Beyond this, I don't really care. I do not believe in the possibility of any deities or Sky Daddies. It would take concrete evidence to change my mind.

Purely the existence of any God for me. If their is a higher being out there, I would not see that being as a God I would see it as another species of life. I would see that life form as a more evolved/developed species. However we can only hope that if that day comes they are friendly enough not to try and kill everyone.

I think the notion is so unlikely as to not seriously consider it, otherwise I would call myself agnostic. There is a small margin of possibility but not enough to seriously consider.

Besides, wouldn't omnipotent omnipresent omniscient supernatural entities be bloody obvious? Why then, is it all faith and no proof? Why are there so many gods?

The Earth is billions of years old and in all that time not one single solitary piece of evidence has come to light to show the existence of a god.

I think it's possible. As far as we've come, we're still discovering. Perhaps there is a force we've yet to unveil.

In any case, if there is a higher power, I severely doubt it's concern for our eternally bickering little blue ball.

I've been both christian and atheist. The study of world religion is what turned me away. I figured religion created God. Once I separated God and religion, I was able to see MY interpretation of Him.

If there is a god of another kind then he doesn't deserve my praise, just the same I find that VERY unlikely that there is a supreme being or beings.
