...that all non-Christians are doomed to eternal damnation? What happens to someone of a different religion who doesn't accept the Christian Savior? Do you think such people can be considered good? Do you think God will punish them for a belief or lack of one?

To TK: It's never "stupid" to ask peope for their opinions. However, you're the first person to say that you won't guess about this because there's no way of knowing, so now we have 3 types of answers: Yes, no, and I'm not going to guess. Not bad, for 5:00 am in NY.

That is exactly what Christianity believes. If Christianity turns out to be right, then "good people" still go to hell. And then you get into those awkward questions like what happens to infants, and people in 3rd world countries who have never heard about Jesus... it's a mind blowing idea, I know.
What bothers non-Christians even more, though, is that a person could lead an absolutely deplorable life (Hitler is the baseline example we usually use) and in their last moments still accept Christ and make it into heaven; meanwhile someone whose life was gentle and good (Gandhi again is our baseline) will go to hell since he was a Hindu. The thought that the evil person gets rewarded and the good person gets punished is infuriating to people.
And you thought our legal system was screwed up!
Fear of hell has been a tactic used by the church for centuries. Too many people are taught to teach the bad news of hell, when the word gospel really means "Good News."

Yes. That is a fact. The Bible says in order to be saved you need to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord. Have faith in God, "without faith you cannot please God", confess and repent of your sins. If you do all these then I'm sure everything will fall into place because it shows that you love God and if you love God you will not want to disappoint Him but please Him every step of the way.
The Bible does not say if we are good we are saved, it says if we have faith in God and love God with all our hearts then we are saved. You can be the best samaritan but if you don't believe in God and think it's or He's a waste of time then God cannot save you.
The Bible also says, "My (God) people are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge". Which is true because people just don't read the Bible, they do not have the knowledge. Knowledge and Wisdom is from God, not man.
Yes they will be punished for a lack of belief, belief in God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Advice: Read the Bible, pray to God, confess and repent of your sins, praise the Lord. May the Lord bless you.
Read the Book of Romans, Revelation, I do recommend you read basically the whole new testament.

The REAL God doesn't have anything to do with Jesus. Sure, Jesus was a good guy. Great. But God would not turn his back on someone simply because they don't think Jesus is his son or because they happen to believe in reincarnation. That's the fictional God that Man created. I could go on forever about how people have manipulated spirituality to help their own gain... But I won't.
My beliefs are that as long as you do the things you do with love in your heart, there's no going wrong.

According to all the Christians I've spoken with, the only way to heaven is through Jesus. If you don't accept Jesus, you go to Hell.
Many will also say that only God can judge you, but they'll still pretty much imply that you have to believe what they believe.
To hell with culture! To hell with smaritanism! Ghandi went to Hell and so did Buddha.
According to them, of course.

I personally don't believe that. I believe that eventually you will have to call upon Christs name. I do believe we have an enemy and he has a specific goal. I personally wouldn't risk it. I would seek God and If you ask God to show himself to you he will. God is a gentleman and wont force himself to you. Seek and you shall find. Its true. I have done it and its the most amazing thing I could experience. I think that you can choose God or move away from him. The further you move away the more you are separated from him. The definition of hell is separation from God. All good things come from God.

The main belief in the CHRISTIAN religion(s) (inculding Catholics/Baptists/Methodist/etc..) As long as you Jesus into your heart as your lord and savior then you are good. But that doesnt mean you can sit there and kill someone and "say" you are sorry but pretending. But if you did really mean it by saying sorry then he will forgive you.

i've got self assurance catholics are Christian simply by fact that they settle for Jesus Christ! My mum is catholic and she or he has an exceptionally huge family contributors whilst in comparison with my dad so maximum my family contributors is catholic. i'm a non-denominational Christian and alter into pondering transforming into to be catholic yet then i found out staying non-denominational is the suitable for me.
