I was a warlock for many years - it led me to the truth though was there to keep me from it ...
Anyway - women are witches - or at least they used to be what would be termed as a witch
However - with the way the world is now today ... maybe gay men could be witches too?
Remember the witch hunts were after the woman mostly - as it was more fun for the priests that would question them - to rape, cut off their hair and then pour alcohol over their scalps and set them on fire ... so that the hair would most likely NEVER grow back ... if they were later found innocent.
The Raping and torture, the hair cutting and such was usually a preliminary thing that took place even before they were questioned as to whether they were a witch or not. Well - it was only priests and their assistants (usually the judge was also a priest) that were doing all the raping and such - so ... it had to be a holy thing, eh?
The men were seldom prosecuted in such a manner - becasue they were not witches ... - BUT - the men could be found guilty of "witchcraft" ... which would allow their death.
hope that helped a bit.
Peace;

Male witches are also called warlocks. There were probably as many of them as there were female witches. But witches got a bad rap because in they were for centuries women who sought to have equal power with men. Because Christian churches were run by men they did not want this challenge to their authority. Witches were men and women who celebrated the earth and knew natural healing potions.

You're all ignorant idiots. Men and women are both called witches in the craft. Warlock means traitor.

Yes, both men and women can be Witches. And just FYI, it is a misconception that women are called witches and men are called warlocks. "Warlock" means "oath-breaker" and is taken as an insult.

Witches are of both sexes.
Warlocks and other terms were created in the inquisition.
Witches are a part of the Pagan group of faiths.
Pagans in general show amazing kindness and tolerance.
Other religions should get a few politeness pointers.
BTW I am a Christian with strong Pagan ties.
I hope this helps

There are men and women who call themselves witches. The term witch is not gender specific except in Harry Potter movies.
As for whether witchcraft is a load of fertilizer....but then you asked for a respectful answer.
