laptop a message appears stating that i need a ethernet card, what is it and where do you put it on a dell laptop. i have already loaded it on my desk top with out any problem.

If you've got a laptop without ethernet then your choices are a USB to ethernet adapter or a PCMCIA to ethernet adapter...

But you may have an ethernet adapter in your laptop already. Look for an RJ45 socket on the computer - like an overgrown modem socket but with 8 wires in it instead of 2 or 4. You may just need to install the driver for it. Most laptops made in the past 3-4 years have ethernet built in to them.

Or you may just need to enable it if it's been disabled.
