It is very important that the bride not look 'made-up' ... if wearing a colored eye shadow isn't her usual deal - then there is no reason to do it on the wedding day. Classic should be what every bride goes for - not trendy. Trendy will out-date the wedding photos.

I only purchase MAC makeup. I think it is the best quality and they have a great selection of colors. I used the matte finish foundation applied with the foundation brush. Next was the concealer for around the eyes and eyelids. Next was 3 different shades of neutral tone eye shadows. They were a brown, a golden brown and a champagne color. Then there was the brown eyebrow pencil. I also had the bronzing powder for highlighting the cheekbones, chin and forehead. I used a Rosy colored blush with my angle brush to get just the right curve. Last the was mascara and lip gloss. All of this was purchased for about 250 bucks. But I looked beautiful.

I went very natural and dewy. I put foundation on, a bronzer with some highlights on the cheekbones. Bronze/gold (a lil shimmer) on my eyes to really play up my blue eyes. A champagne/lightening color under the brow. Brown eyeliner. I put my makeup on a little heavier than everyday but I hate the women that end up looking like some Tammy Faye Baker or Priscilla Presley on their wedding day. I mean you want your groom to still recognize you and if you aren't the type of girl that usually cakes it on her face, don't do it on your wedding day.
My photographer was worried b/c her last couple brides had been orange and it took so much touch ups to fix a shot with her and the groom both in it (as he was not orange). She was so concerned I'd go crazy with the self tanners too.
I wanted to look like a more beautiful verson of me, but still look like me. I used an allday lipstick in a mauve/berry tone, which looked great all night. I don't think I even used blush at all. Overall, I dont think I did overly smoky eyes or overly dramatic mouth--but I look natural and dewy, with a bit of shimmer and most importantly young and happy.

A moisturizer, then a very soft delicate foundation, and mineral powder, soft look with blushing cheeks that glow and delicate eye makeup in the beiges with a soft highlighter. Soft eyebrows, and peachy/pink lip color with a gloss. Eyes made up with brown eyeliner smudged slightly on top lid and just delicately done on the lower lid, as you don't want to have the racoon look. I would advise anyone getting married if they are going to have a makeup artist do their makeup, I would have a trial run. Very important.

My makeup and hair person made me late to my own wedding, so any other person doing my makeup would have been GREAT! Unfortunately, I just picked a service from the internet, and didn´t get a preview. My makeup looks great in pictures, although in person, it was way too heavy. My lipstick felt like clown paint, and the foundation was very heavy. Luckily, the temperature was cool, so it didn´t melt:)
For the eyes, which are brown, they were lined in a teal sea greenish blue, and for the lid crease a brownish gold-very pretty with frosty highlighter. What I HATED was the mascara, and maybe the person did this for pictures-it was put on in clumps! I would have never done my eyes like this, and I don´t know what others thought to see me in person, but like I said, the pictures turned out awesome.
Maybe you should emphasize to your brides that yes, the makeup is put on a little bit heavier than usual, but will look great in pictures...these last forever.
To tell you the truth, I like wearing makeup, and the person that did it was unprofessional in getting me to the chapel on time, but since I looked the prettiest I have ever looked, I hve forgiven her. When she asked me how I would like to look, I replied, "Like me, only better."
If you want to see before and after pictures, send me an E-mail. I would love to know how to make my eyes look like Posh Spices for those nights when I go out to German clubs!

I LOVE smoky eyes....it brings out the green in my eye colour. My dress is blue, so I'm going for soft, smoky grey around my eyes, lined with black (I like drama and was a Goth for many years) this is my "Grown Up Goth" look lol, I am naturally very pale skinned, so keeping the base very light, smoky eyes (waterproof mascara in case I cry) I'm using a high-lighting cream just on my temples and the top of my cheek bones to reflect the light, and very natural lip gloss, it's a look I use a lot, I feel it's important not to look dramatically different on your wedding day, trying out a bold new look is a brave thing to do.

I am getting married tomorrow. My make-up will be my usual natural looking foundation (TruBlend from Covergirl) then a loose powder from Covergirl that has minerals in it to give off a little shimmer to my face. Then a glossy white eyeshadow that isn't packed on so it doesn't stand out too much. Just give it a soft glow. WIth a bronzer on my upper eyes just below my brows. Then a dark red lipstick that matches my dark red rose and white bouquet. It looks very natural, but very classy.

When I get married, I plan on going for a more natural look. I've seen brides in the past who had so much make up caked on that they looked like clowns. I certainly don't want that to happen to me! I plan on having a fall wedding, so I want the neutral browns and pinks and such.

A little more than I would normally wear, but as close to what is normal, for me, as possible.
I've been married and I use to be a wedding planner. In my experience, a Bride is much more beautiful, looking as much like herself, rather than a beauty pagent girl.
By the way, my wedding photos turned out beautifully!!!!!!!!!!

on my wedding day i'd like something subtle.. but maybe this is because of the style of wedding i want.. i'd probably go for:
~ little bit of blusher on the cheeks
~ nude/natural lip gloss or lipstick
~ good eyeliner in brown not black
~ light mascara
~ pale metallic or slightly glittery eyeshadow
~ matt look
hope this helps
