This is a very good question. You can do this a couple of ways.
(1) The natural way, or
(2) The chemical way
The best way I know how to treat this is by using chamomile cream and also look for something that is called 'Neem". This is a plant that was recently stated that it has great analgesic properties to help stop swelling and itchiness.

Take anti-histamine tablets they will take the heat and the swelling down and minimise itching. Also apply an anti-histamine cream like Lancane, particularly at night, this will stop you scratching them in your sleep.
A roll on deodorant is also useful for taking out the heat and cooling the bites.

An anti-allergen such as Benedryl will help with the itching.
Calamine or other similar lotions will help heal the bites.

calamine lotion or benydryl cream(not oral kind). And it sounds terrible but do not scratch, slap the itch because it is not abrasive ane relieves the itch. Dont bruise your self just a tap on the itch helps. I learned that when I gaot a tatoo and they can itch bad
